    As voted by who?

The best part is he was to be given this made up agenda based award after he KOd a completely shot version of JMM.....only shot JMM went ahead and schooled him, got robbed, and Pac got booed out of the building

Pac and Floyd were the two biggest names of that era. Floyd was hated as much as he was loved, Pac was far more popular. The public and casuals would have voted for their favourite, not neutrally. But it wasnt even a public thing. It was just a made up farcical agenda based money driven joke which backfired horribly when Dipidran got taken to the cleaners

That's what I told these knob slobbers yesterday, it was given to HBO guys since 1999/2000. The first recipient of this award was Roy Jones Jr. who the BWAA never gave FOTY for any year in the 90s. Evander Holyfield was FOTY for 90/96/97 and he was skipped all the way over for Fighter of the Decade and they gave it to Roy Jones Jr. because HBO said so. The same happened with Pacquiao in 2000 accept he won FOTY 3 times like Holyfield did in the 90s. That's bias for you.
What did he win it in 2010? For punching on Clottey for 36 minutes while he stood there? All this **** is for sale and hardly ever fair. Why didn't Marquez win FOTY in 2012 for his proper dispatching for the FOTD?

    Boxing writers of America.

Gave the award to Pac. And said nobody else was even close to him. Or remotely considered.

    Pacland.

Because 2012 wasn't Pac's decade. Marquez had 2 cracks at a prime Manny and came up short both times.

I said Marquez should have gotten FOTY for 2012. Can you read?

I don't see how anyone from 2000-09 comes close to Pac's run. By the end of that decade, Pac was the baddest man in the sport.

And besides, if anything is for sale, you know FMJ will buy it.

That's Pac's award, get over it.

    Get over what?

Prime Manny being awarded a pretend Toys R Us Belt then getting taken to the cleaners by a shot Juan?

Or a roided to the gills prime Manny nearly being decapitated by an even more shot Juan?

You see - beating up old shot fighters doesnt work so when they are ten times better than you ever were in the first place ;)

Fighter of the decade is just an accolade like p4p. It has some substance to it, but it does favor fighters of a certain age over others. It sort of sucks if you are a really great fighter but your prime falls between the 5 of one decade and the 5 of another.

That said, I have no problem giving fighter of the 2000s to Manny. He did more than Floyd in that ten year block, and he was the better fighter at that time. Jones and Bhop were both great 90s fighters but Jones clearly had the better early career and Bhop had the better late stage career. Giving Jones fighter of the 90s shouldn't be controversial even if he didn't have a great career after that. Jones and Bhop like Manny and Floyd were both great fighters of roughly similar ATG level when looked at over the course of both fighter's entire careers. Bhop beating Jones when they were old was just a matter of longevity and doesn't take away the fact that Jones beat Bhop when they were young. Their careers had two trajectories that crossed at one point when one was better and then the other was on top. It happens.

If you have to ask who decides who the fighter of the decade is by now you should refrain from commenting on it !

Are you High? JMM was completely roided up in the 2012 fight. Back acne, with a steroid guru, bigger than ever. What is funny is a super roided up JMM could win more than 3 rounds against Bradley!!
