UFC is a completely different animal. In UFC, if you get knocked down once thats it, fights over. Why? Because the other guy is jumping on top of you immediately before you have a chance to recuperate. Boxing is ****ed up, you get knocked down and you are allowed 10 seconds to get up. This forces fighters who have more heart than mind to submit themselves for more punishment. Boxing is a punishment game, UFC is not. This is why fighters can last longer in UFC, they are allowed one knock down per fight. This is a fundamental difference between both sports that most people do not understand.

Disclaimer, I am a huge fan of both (and in combat sports in general).

boxers bounce back from defeats

humberto soto got 7 losses before becoming world champion

he defend his tittle 10 times

cruz carbajal got 11 losses before becoming world champion

how many losses did sugar ray robinson and jack lamotta had?

jersey joe walcott was 49-16-2 when he won the heavyweight championship in 1951.

Jonny Nelson had 12 defeats when he won the title, he went on to defend it 13 times

Pipino Cuevas got 6 losses when he became chapiom and he defend his belt 12 times

lets not mention Glen Johnson

you see a good fighter with a good record getting beat in this times and he is done, he is shot...he has no chin... bla bla bla.

anybody in 168 and 175 got hit flush by that straight from stevenson and they goes down to the canvas....that boy can hit.

i think dawson will bounce back...he is a good fighter he just caught really bad
