There has been so many great fights so far and many more exciting fights to come in 2009! Some of my favorites so far have been, Berto vs Collazo -great action fight, needs to be a rematch Mosley vs Margarito - surprising fight, great watching Mosley cement his legacy Urango vs Ngoudjo - good action fight, urango is a beast Marquez vs Diaz - FOTY IMO so far- These types of fights are what I live for. Bradley vs Holt - I thought this fight was very entertaining Paul Williams vs Winky Wright - Really an exciting action fight ... Paul Williams is proving his greatness this year. Froch vs Taylor - Also a great fight, Froch is a beast at 168... We have a lot to look forward to this year as well! I mean Hatton vs Pacman is less than a week away! This summer we get to see Cotto vs Clottey and Wlad vs Haye! A possible matchup between the returning Floyd Mayweather and P4P #2 JMM! Later this year we will most likely get to see the mega fight at 160 we have been waiting for! Pavlik vs Abraham! This has been a great year so far, I am very exciting about the rest of the year! Who said boxing is dying? What fights have you enjoyed the most this year?
Indeed it's a terrific time to be a boxing fan. Next Saturday night I plan to gather all my friends who are casual fans and indoctrinate them into the greatness of this sport. :good
Yes, indeed all have been great fights. One more thing to note - alll those you listed have been non-PPV events.
yep i agree. also fully agree with that diaz/marquez fight being the pick of the bunch. last night though my heart was pounding when froch was goin for the kill vs taylor---terrific actiong
This thread...:good What a great year for boxing so far. What would make it even better if more major networks would broadcast fights.
Take my word on this, it is hard to convince people of anything we think is great. They will figure it out through time. Sometimes what gets people into boxing are the personalities and not the sport. Then they start to get into the great things about the sport. I have a friend who prior to 1988 he did not like boxing at all. Well he saw the Lalonde/Leonard fight on TV and he like Leonard and he slowly became a fan and now he watches some fights which I do not even order. So it can happen, but it has to be on their time.
Great year. And we anit done yet, maybe a bigger fight then this weekends will be later this year!!! Boxing is the **** and always will be
