If indeed legitamate, it hurts boxing more than anything. The fighter who lost is claiming he had an injury and that's why he lost. The fighter who won is not been given credit. The non believers - and there are many, don'r want to see a rematch. The fight has lost it's luster. After so much talk from the Pacquiao camp, this was a dissapointment. Yeah, I just want both these fighters to retire. Time to focus on the next generatuon.
what i want to know is if indeed floyd knew about it (as it's been reported) and pulled on Pac's arm on purpose. There were moments where he uncharacteristically pulled on Pac's right arm.... now, what do think about that? if it's true? I wouldn't be surprised man, Ellerbe said they knew everything that was going on in Pac's camp and that it was 'rough'
I don't really care anymore. I don't want to see a rematch. Floyd will retire in September. Pacquiao will come back next year and face a fighter that will not move and that can make him look good and all his followers will claim his killer instinct is back. I seriously hope that instead he retires. And these boards are not consumed with Pa**ards and F**mos anymore. Time to focus on the new generation. Chocolatito, Crawford, Lomachenko, Wilder, Alvarez, Golovkin, etc. Boxing will live on. :bbb
Agreed. The smack talk was good for five years but some fans are just sore losers like their idol. They have their alibi.
Agreed, I'm actually surprised how little I give a **** who either fights next haha....bring on Thurman, Loma, etc...
Alvarez vs. Klirkland is next week and then Chocolatito vs. Sosa the following. Both promise to be action packed fights.
Whereas he was throwing the right a whole lot throughout the fight and after the 4th round where he proposed he injured it, I don't see how relevant this is to the outcome. Dude is pretty much a one-handed fighter anyway. Now, if he WAS NOT throwing that right, or if it were his power left arm that were injured, maybe then it would be more relevant. Perhaps it was in pain during the fight, but in no way did that seem to hinder him from using it aggressively. A one handed fighter was Floyd against Castillo 1(torn rotator cuff) who not only did not use that arm during the fight, but mentioned that first thing in the post fight interview and complained about it in the corner. But that doesn't stop folks from saying he lost that fight. It's not like Manny would have landed any more punches with that right anyway. If these guys are fishing for excuses or angling for a rematch, then I guess Shane, who supposedly popped his achilles before the Pacquiao fight, has reason to say his loss was illegitimate. As does DeLaHoya who was on IV's on fight night due to dehydration, and the plethora of other opponents who drained weight to fight him and were carefully selected after coming off recent losses. His team and himself need to stop it because they sound real pathetic and sad right now.
