This is actually John Henry Lewis ?

    Well the description is certainly completely inaccurate, calling him a Lightweight.

    If it was a title defence in 38, which he won by KO, the only candidate would be Martinez, who was a southpaw.

    He doesn't look like Lewis to me either.

    maybe an undercard bout, looks a bit raw for Top Guys.

    Hmm, that sure doesn’t look like arguably the best Lt Hvy to have existed

    Lewis, who I much admire, had a distinctive ‘cylindrical’ look to his trunk…there is no such body shape on display in this clip.

    That's what I thought. If it has anything to do with a John Henry Lewis fight, it is as a film of the undercard. Even then, those guys don't look good enough to be on the undercard of a title bout.

    That is John Henry Lewis and judging by the year I think the other guy is either Elmer Ray or Leonard Nebett.
