well, you have a point, but the problem you have here is that two your talking about are going to be linked together until they fight and even after they fight because there is no relevant fight left for either men but to fight eachother. so until they fight, they both need to be critisized but right now, the spotlight is on mayweather since he went on "vacation".

Why would you walk away from $40 million dollars over an issue then all of the sudden back track and "change your mind", when from a negotiational standpoint you have gained nothing. There have been no concessions made from anyone involved so what would cause this drastic change of heart, other than if they had taken this stance during negotiations there would have been a fight in May, compared to taking the stance now is simply a publicity stunt to try and win the favor of public perception.

Floyd is to blame. You could also blame Mosley for cashing in on another big payday rather than stepping aside and letting someone more deserving get the shot at Pacquiao.

Berto is 10 times a better option that a guy who hasnt won a fight in 2 years and will be 5 months shy of his 40th birthday come fight night. Not to mention looked like **** in a draw against...SERGIO ****ING Mora...
so not sure where you get that logic from...
but agreed...mayweather is a ***** and we can leave it at that :good

you have an interesting point. both parties acted like a bunch of hoes when this fight originally was suppose to happen and then end result was that everything fell through, however didn't negotiations resume after the fact. the whole vacation thing seems like bull**** dont you think.

Mosley hasn't won a fight in 2 years.

When Floyd fought him, it had already been 16 months since Mosley's last victory.

Then he lost that fight and got a draw in the next one.

I'd rather see Pac vs Berto

in retrospect, you may be right, however you cant argue between who has fought the better fighters. either way, neither man who be as big a threat as mayweather would be, which the fight that really matter.

It is Arum fault not Mayweather. Pacquiao can choose to defend his 154lbs super welterweight to Martinez, or fight Berto at Welterweight. Don't try to say that Berto is not deserving to fight Pacquiao. Clottey and Margarito is not deserving too.

Pacquiao must man-up about his opponent, not a yesman whoever Arum put infront of him.

Let's be adults here. Pac was offered an opportunity for a fight in January. Remember? Floyd was directly involved with the process, including the negotiations. The money was right, all other logistics were agreeable to both fighters. But, Team Pac did not want to accept the testing demand on the table...until 6 or more months after it was offered.

Then...there was a halfhearted attempt to make the fight after Floyd had already made a superfight with someone else. What we do know is that Team Pac would go no futher than 7 days on the testing. We know Floyd, publicly, stated his desire for the same testing as he and Shane underwent. We don't really know all the details of the negotiations. But, we know Floyd was not directly involved, and he was apparently not interested in the offer presented to him enough to make another fight this year.

You can blame Floyd for not being motivated enough the second time around, to negotiate (or have his handlers negotiate) the matter further. The other choices are Pac's. People need to grow up about this ****. Pac's choices to fight Clottey, Margo, and now Shane...are HIS choices...not Floyd's. Floyd has his own problems, evidently...many of which are based on HIS choices.

    good post.

but floyd's 'choices' also seem to coincide with a fight that would define his career in the way that he has advertised it in order to sell fights.

the latter part of your post nails it. after mayweather dominated mosley, he says he going on vacation. but in reality, that victory was should have been the perfect setup for negoations to resume to make the pac fight happen. thats what you have to zero in on. there are lots of things that you will never know, discussions both parties have, but you can only go by what you know. as far as opponents, there are issues with all those guys. marquez is unproven above 135, berto is unproven period, and mosley is old. the bestb option would have probably been martinez but then there would have been a weight issue. at this point, mayweather-pac is the only relevant fight left for either man.

Thanks. Fair enough. You could apply that to the Marquez fight and more notably, the Shane fight. However, this would be Pac's third fight in a row, where the anticipation of a fight with Floyd has helped to justify Pac's choices of opponents and sell Pac's fight, as well.

Yeah, but to be honest I don't think Floyd intended to fight again this year. He has been pretty clear that he intends to fight one time per year, and regardless what people say, in my opinion and I feel the legitimate information supports, he went out of his way and bent over backwards to make this fight happen then. Afterward, I don't think he had the "urge", he was on vacation, and wasn't really worried about the fight because he made a lot of money and was done for the year. I feel he knew this going in and which is why he went to the lengths he did to make the fight happen in May. While I understand why you would say the vacation deal is BS, and to some degree I agree it sucks, but it's not as big an issue for me because I didn't expect anything less because that is what he said he was going to do. That said, I wish he fought more, and it is frustrating that he doesn't respond, but he's his own man and does what he wants, when he wants. I know that doesn't sit well with everyone, but it is who he is. I think he will try again to make the fight next year, if it fails, he will fight then he probably won't fight again after that (that year). I think he may have 2 more fights left, perhaps he squeezes them both in within a six month month period that encompasses 2011 and 2012 but after that I think he'll be done.
