Could be Cotto's year, but I wouldn't proclaim that as an absolute certainty. There are several big names in the welterweight division, some of who Cotto would be an underdog against, and some who are very capable of pulling off an upset against Cotto. If we've learned anything from this divsion it's that anything is possible so having a big year at welterweight is no small feat.

Not at all...Cotto is a good boxer....Just that some of his fans are ridiculously desperate....If he can beat Clottey that would be a huge victory for him....But Clottey is no walk in the park...Nawmaen??:deal

Clottey's size and defense will prove crucial in the fight. . . But I think Cotto's vicious body attack and STIFF SLEDGE-HAMMER like jab can keep Clottey off. . . I also think that Clottey's turtle shell defense style will allow Cotto to attack his body more easily with his hooks and it could wear down Clottey for a late stoppage. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN THE WW DIVISION!

or Cotto wins UD by out boxing Clottey's ass :hi:

Just curious, but who would he be the underdog for except PBF. Absolute certainty that he will be the same Cotto before the Marg fight. We are not sure yet and maybe that is why the Clottey fight is not signed yet. Arum might want another tune-up to see where Cotto really is. If Cotto just signs and fights Clottey and wins, that is a true warrior. Fight the best and it will lead him to PBF for a Megafight.

I think its gonna come down to Cottos defense. If he gets hit all the time like usual then hes going down. If he picks his spots and touches the body he can win. The real problem I see is that Cotto with throw 3 body punches and Clottey throws 1 big ass hook. Cotto will out work him, but when Clottey sits in that defense like he does, then you know when he throws he means bussiness, kinda of like Abraham.

Very possible, especially with Margarito being exposed as a lying pathetic cheater Cotto won't need to worry about his loss to hands of plaster.

Wouldn't be surprised if Clottey wins, he's very underrated. Cotto could have a big year but this year could also finish him...

Ouch, but if Cotto is to beat Clottey and just say Berto, I think Cotto could be the favorite since Marg will be out for a year. Money will be on Cotto to exact revenge. I am just talking. Cotto could have the WBO/WBC/IBF against Marg. Fans would be outraged due to saying Marg does not deserve a big payday or title. I would say fight winner takes all and no titles on the line. The sky is the limit if Cotto has a great year.

The Clottey fight is winnable, but it's also losable. Honestly I don't have expectations for Cotto either way. He looked good coming back against Jennings, but who know if he's fully recovered from last summer. It could be a very good year for Cotto, but there could easily be a letdown against a live dog.

:nono Mosley beat the man who beat cotto so if cotto wants to be the best welterweight he has to fight and beat mosley. Their first fight was close so a rematch would still be an attractive fight.

Clottey's going to be a tough opponent for Cotto but Cotto has better skills and if he fights the proper way could win a UD.
