Recently some elements have been trying to turn boxing into a sport just like football - clean, wholesome, open for families etc.

But boxing has always been about the street.

Think of Liston threatening Clay with a gun, Tyson saying he wants to eat his opponents children, badass mutha****as

Chisora did a lot for boxing although many people who have interests in making boxing into something its not will disagree.

I agree these klitscho fans need to take up a new hobby such has fish husbandry or perhaps flower arranging.
I have a feeling that these posters arent grown men who like the barbaric sweet sport but little pencil neck youngsters who read marvel comic books. I
Told yall theirs too many super hero films that they are releasing. one after the other. these pencil necks are putting the Klitschos on a super hero pedestal.
The Klitscho got embarressed outright, Slapped spat at and his older brother was put constantly on the back foot. blowing out his blow hole. In a bizarre twist of events I felt sorry for Vitali at the interview. Chisora schooled him

Agree, nothing wrong with what Chisora did, he'll pay his fine and as a boxing fan i have no problem with what he did.
He fought a good clean fight in Vitali's arena. Boxing benifitet last night, finally a decent heavyweight fight and a good show from both men

Exactly. Some modern boxing fans are trying to sissify or sanitize boxing, but this is a man's sport, it is about laying the smackdown on somebody. And Chisora did just that, good for him!

Pfft! Rules make boxing the beauty that it is, the art that it can be. It ain't called "sweet science" without the principles and rules that made it 'sweet' and 'science' all at the same time. You guys who would make boxing sound and look like some uncivilized ape-fight, go watch MMA, WWE, **** like that, or some animal fights in the jungle.

Exactly. But some of today feminized boxing fans don't like this. Oh no, real men might start watching our sport, heaven forbid!

I like the excitement, DB, it may get a few more headlines and video clips played, but I think it is a little shortsighted. Things like that are not good in the long run.

If Vk or WK had hauled off and clocked Chisora, which he would have deserved, would that have been good for anyone? The fight would very likely have been cancelled. All, down the drain.

Also, we want guys to battle their asses off, but we really don't want anyone getting seriously hurt in or out of the ring. Can't imagine that would be very good for the sport either. Guys have enough incentive to destroy each other, no need to give them more incentive to maybe get that extra punch in as the ref is stopping it, or the late punch after the bell, or the shot to the nads, etc.....

It's one thing to threaten a guy, a la Tyson or Liston, or any number of guys over the years. It's also one thing to trash talk and things like that. But to lay hands, or spit water in a guy's face is just asking for trouble that could far outweigh the benefits of a little temporary shock value.
