PBF has shut both Mosley and Marquez at 147lbs. Mosley's best weight is 147lbs and he is worse at 154lbs. And Mosley got shut out totally at 147lbs. On the other hand JMM was also shut out by PBF at 147lbs however unlike Mosley, 147lbs isnt JMM's best weight. JMM is a 10x better fight than Mosley for Pac at 140lbs. I give Pac zero credit for fighting Mosley at 147lbs. A fight with JMM at 140lbs is more competetive. AND... as for JMM not being as big as mosley and not being able to draw big PPV numbers is bullcrap. Marquez has Mexico by his side a whole Country!! Anyone Agree?
Absolutely disagree. If Marquez was as popular a draw as you make him out to be, he would be making Pac/Floyd money all on his own and not relying on Pac for his ultimate payday. Marquez made "just" 1.4 million against Katsidis. ****, Marquez-Katsidis wasn't even a PPV fight. :deal
mosely`s best weight without doubt was at 135 now if mosely continues to fight he should fight at 154, albeit he should retire as he is competitive but is past his sell by date and losing a bit of the legacy he should have had if he had retired earlier. mayweather is a special talent as is paq and paq will do good numbers no matter who he fights because he has an entertaining exciting style.
mosely should not really have fought floyd at 147 either, he had not fought at welterweight since he lost to vernon forrest and that must have been 7 or 8 years ago. boiling down for any fighter after all those years makes the legs and stamina suspect, as well as being old for a welterweight. if he had to do the same v paq, then IMO he would be dangerous for 3 rounds as he was v mayweather before father time and making weight again caught up with him as it does v mayweather. mayweather and paq are still at the top of there games and mosley about 10 years past his best form.
I think JMM is still gaining popularity, he is a real crowd pleaser and can can box and brawl etc... People are realising his fights are so entertaining.
Marquez is not a draw, plain and simple. He made 1.4 million against Katsidis. And he's been in the game a very long time. He just wants an ultimate paycheck before retiring. And he's obviously more than willing to ride Pac's coat tails to get it.
Here are some FACTS to back up my statement: Marquez-Diaz II (150,000-200,000 PPVs) Pacquiao-Clottey (700,00 PPVs) Diaz and Clottey both unknown, but Clottey moreso. Pac carried Clottey to 700,000 PPVs. Marquez-Diaz did between 150,000 to 200,000. Final numbers were never released. At the BEST CASE SCENARIO, Marquez did 200,000 PPVs. I rest my case. :deal
150-200K. A final number was never announced. Or at least publicly. Leads me to believe it was closer to 150 than 200. But even if you give Marquez 200, he still can't touch 700K generated by Pac Vs. Clottey. :deal
There were 4,920 sold tickets in the Marquez- Katsidis considering that Berto also fought in that card.
Nah I get your point but the better of the fights would be Pac vs JMM, also if JMM gets FOTY again then it makes it more appealing.
