You think Manny is a fully fledged welterweight now?

He'd be much more comfortable at light-welter, retains his power at the weight but gains a little more speed and probably a little more energy.

Mark my words, the guy wants nothing, nothing to do with Hatton. 60/40 is bull****, there's no way he's the bigger draw here. Hatton is willing to give him the majority and Arum ready to give him the bigger guarentee, but he's doing everything possible to avoid a fight with Ricky Hatton.

I think Manny just wants the proper share of the purse that he thinks he really deserves.

If the total purse was only 1 million dollars, I bet that he would still fight for a 60-40 or a 55-45 share.

This is not all about the money, people.

He's looking for the proper respect that he feels he deserves.

Respect is a big thing in Philippine culture. For example, we are cousins, I am 10 years older than you, but your mother (my aunt) is the eldest of all the brothers and sisters in the family.

That means that I should and will respect you as if you are the older cousin, and I will call you my "big brother" even if you're just a kid.

It's not easy to understand for people in the west, I'm sure. But that's how we do things here.

Manny's looking for an offer that he feels is respectable. He had said earlier that he's not greedy, and he isnt desperate to get all the money in the world. He said that he didnt ask for 60-40 or 55-45 just to scam Hatton and his camp, or disrespect them, or pull a fast one on them.

He's just asking for what is due him, with all the fights he has fought, purse sharing deals he has given way to, and the way he has fought with all his heart just to please the boxing fans worldwide.

All of that for 55% of the share, this time, this moment in his career, is that too much to ask?

Nonsense. He was standing to make about 3 times what Hatton made. He had a much larger guarantee, and was getting a bigger share of the purse. Considering that Hatton is a bigger draw and brings more money to the table... that was MORE than fair for Pac.

Whatever anyone says... it looks AWFUL for Pac. He already has a rep for fighting guys when they are past their prime. Now, he has a chance to make CRAZY money for a mega-fight showdown with a current World Champion who is at the top of his game... and he is doing everything that he can do in order to avoid the fight. Which is the biggest fight in the World for Manny at this moment, and a fight that EVERYONE wants to see.

You can say what you wanna say, but I really dont think he wants to avoid fighting Hatton.

He also wants this fight. The interview he said earlier, he said that the door is still open, he lowered it down to 55%, and he said that once the other camp says "yes", the fight is a go.

But if they say "No", he would not lose sleep over it. Money is not everything here.

Regular people here can manage to live and budget their money with just US$200+ a month. (it's hard, but they can do it)

So, imagine a person like Manny who's already earned a lot of money?

Life's easy for him now, here.

He wants what he feels is due him. It's not all about the money.
