You don't have a strong business sense. Imaginary pd 4 pd status hasn't got a damn thing to do with how much of the share you should get. What matters is who puts the asses in the seats and sells the PPV's. Hatton puts more asses in the seats, and sells more PPV's. Most of the money generated from this fight will come from England. That's a fact and even Freddie Roach admitted that. Also, Hatton has the ring mag title at 140... Hatton is the only person who have will have a tangible Title on the line. Not the mythical pd 4 pd list that means nothing in the long run... but Ring Magazine Jr. Welterweight Champion Title which he will be carrying to the ring with him. Hatton is the recognized Champ of the division in which the fight would take place.

    So...

    Hatton is the draw.

    Hatton brings the money.

Hatton is the recognized Champion at 140.

Hatton is willing to make less money in order for this fight to take place.

However, Pac should get even more than he is already getting over Hatton to fight him? Pac has already had his guarantee raised which gives him a higher guarantee than he even had when he fought against Oscar.

You don't think Manny's stalling, maybe waiting to see what happens tomorrow night?

No. It doesn't even matter. Neither of those fights would be as big as Pac vs Hatton anyways. Besides that, Roach already said that he wasn't stupid and wouldn't let Pac fight Margo. He even went as far as to say that unless he saw that Margo looked past it, if he did... then they would consider it. So... either fight a past prime Mosley if he wins... or only fight Margo if he looks like he is on the slide? Really... they are openly targeting fighters who aren't at the top of their game. Roach flat out said that watching how far past it Oscar was against Forbes is what made him push for that fight. Where is the great respect, and honor in that?

I hear you and do not necassarily disagree with what you are saying, but I'm not sure of the circumstances when he said ok. Did they just spring it on him out of the blue and he answered before thinking about it. I've been in similar situations, especially in a work environment where I've been blindsided by a boss and agreed to something on the spot, and regretted it a few minutes later after thinking about it. Guess I'm giving Manny some slack for now.

No I think he is stalling, waiting to see if Mosley beats Margo. Mosley, I'm sure they think they can beat. Also this will be the best chance for Team Pac to win the legit WW title. No way is he gonna go in there and beat Margo, Cotto, Williams etc But Mosley, they may match up well against. I think they want to see if this opportunity presents itself. In the event that it does; they will offer a fight to Mosley. Hope to win it, vacate the title and then go back down to 140 and force a fight with Hatton or whoever else has the #1 spot at that time. Perfect scenario for Pac. :deal

Pretty big difference between a "Hey, could you work this saturday?" type question... and a verbal agreement to a multi-million dollar World Championship boxing mega-fight type of decision. I really don't see Manny being blindsided by this sort of mega-event. I think that his ego is at an all time high, and he is hurting his legacy, and standing with the fans by his current actions.

Don't forget that Mosley is a part of Golden Boy Promotions. Don't expect a fight against Mosley to come easily after Manny has burnt them now, twice. First, he agrees to a promotional contract with Golden Boy. Accepts the signing bonus, ect... and then turns around and also signs with Top Rank, causes court injunctions, hearings, settlements, ect... Now, he agrees to a fight against Hatton... Golden Boy wastes time and money to get the ball rolling on promoting this event. Now, Pac pulls these antics and once again they are left holding nothing but an empty promise. I am not so sure that they will be looking to do business with him after Saturday's fight.

I'm not saying it will happen. But I do suspect that in the event of a Mosley victory, 3 men will contact him for a fight or at least notify Golden Boy that they are open for negotiations; Hatton, Pac and Floyd. However, if Margo wins their love triangle will stay between the three of them :yep

If Mosley wins, I would guess that a rematch against Margo is probably the most likely thing to happen.

I think Margo is gonna give Cotto the rematch regardless of outcome.

I hope Mosley gets a mega fight with one of those 3 after he wins, he has earned it more than anyone. One more fight on the big stage before he retires hopefully. :deal

    Possibly.

However, I think that a match-up against Hatton or Floyd is more lucrative for Mosley. First of all... they are bigger draws. Second, Pac obviously doesn't have a damn clue of his financial worth. Besides that... if Pac screws Golden Boy over again... who do you think that they will book a fight with? Golden Boy fighter Ricky Hatton... or Pac? Golden Boy holds all of the cards on that one. Let alone the fact that De La Hoya vs Mosley III wouldn't be out of the question either. I really don't see Pac landing a fight against Mosley next.
