He also has a great jab and serious power for that weight.

True. I thought Taylor should've been the easy favorite vs. Pavlik but Cotto vs. Mosley is practically 50/50 as well as Calzagne vs. Kessler.

    Manfredo vs Mora II

What about Hoya/Floyd? That was definitely a pick 'em due to some of the unknowns.

Neither have a stellar resume so that is why its so hard to call this one. Who has done better against the bums they have faced? And what does that tell us? Very intriguing :think

Honestly lads, I'm as serious as cancer. We can revisit this thread after the fight and debate whether I was right or wrong if you want. I can see an elite fighter beating Calzaghe at this stage of his career but I don't think it's going to happen tonight. I am ready for the day when Joe loses and I'll be cool with it. As I said, I can't see Kessler being able to beat him.

I have said nothing bad about Kessler and won't... he's very good. But I really can't say that I see anything "elite" in him. If he proves me wrong tonight then I will welcome him into the elite level. He's a big lad that should be operating at Light Heavy - he's too slow for Joe.

Yes.... exactly..... "he handled Mundines speed ok"

Tonight, unfortunately, he's fighting the guy who is 2 levels above Mundine.

    That's correct

Calzaghe wld beat Mundine in ever facet of boxing but when it comes to speed that's Mundines bread and butter....... you best get a vid or 2 of the mouth Mundines fights........nevertheless u are right Calzaghe is the man at 168......hell i'm tipping him to beat Kess as well.

The is the first fight where I honestly don't have a clue who's going to win.
Joe is definately elite, even if his resumes patchier than my quilt, and I believe Kessler is. Although not if he performs poorly tonight. (though I have no reason to believe that he will disapoint.)

Point is I think we'll find out more about Kessler tonight than Joe.

No he wont, if he tries to box Calzaghe, he will lose. To win he have to fight on the inside and use is speed.

Calzaghe UD if he gets inside and throw deadly combinations (my pick)

Kessler UD if Calzaghe try to outbox him

And Kessler was only 50% of his usual self in that fight. That should even things out!

  11. Mayweather - De la hoya was a close 50-50 pick em fight..

This fight won't be that close Calzaghe will give MK a boxing lesson:deal

School starts in about 2 hours- Kesseler will get a true boxing lesson...:good

Truthfully though, I wouldn't be upset at Kessler beating Calzaghe. He'd prove to the world that he's p4p. That he deserves to called elite. He seems to be a cool confident guy with the willingness and determination to succeed. All power to Kessler and his decent fans should he win.

Shaking head vigorously, as he hears another voguishly cliche: What the hell does that mean? Do you still see that tackle by Moore, and when Lineker scored?;)
