Parker executed an excellent game plan tonight and did exactly what he needed to do. And he had the courage to take what was perceived as an extremely difficult assignment.

But I think Wilder's age and mileage also played a role here. Wilder...wasn't even "wild" tonight. He knew he couldn't pull the trigger. He's a shot fighter.

But I don't want to detract too much from JP's performance. He's definitely underappreciated. If I found out next morning that he's now the WBC Mandatory - I'd be glad to hear it. He came up big for his fans tonight and that's pretty cool.

What's next? I think Joseph Parker should be the new WBC mandatory challenger.

If it's for the WBC mandatory - yeah, you could sell it.

Could live with that. I think JP did have the tougher assignment tonight, though, and I'd be perfectly ok if they just gave him the voluntary.

But a fight with AJ would be good money for Joseph and I suspect he'd be willing to earn the mandatory with a lucrative fight.

Definitely don’t think he should fight Joyce again. Just not a good fight for him. I actually think stylistically Zhang would be better, and he’d get more credit for it too. If you can move a bit and be defensively responsible you’re hard work for Zhang.

A.J. will fight Hrgovic next, I'd say spring. Hearn basically said as much when he said "it's maybe a blessing the Wilder fight won't happen. A.. should be focused on championships."

The IBF already said their belt is on the line for the first Fury/Usyk fight only.

    Cheers Kiwis.

Parker earned his title of Lupesoliai La'auliolemalietoa earnestly.

America takes an L. Should have promoted the fantastic Micheal Hunter with the same fervor.

Loss to Joyce lit a fire under him. 4-0 in 2023.

It's the same Parker.....Wilder was just always the most protected and overrated HW ever.

I notice the WBC guy put a WBC cap on Parker for the photos after the fight

I can totally see Hearn and Higgins making a deal where AJ and Parker fight for WBC Mandatory

    Make it happen!!
