    I don’t believe in bad divisions. Welterweight is and always will be one of the most densely populated divisions in the sport. Just because none of the current crop are standouts right now doesn’t mean they won’t be or that somebody new nobody knew of won’t come along and shake things up. Boots, Stanionis, Sasaki, Giyasov, Cissokho, Norman Jr, and Barrios isn’t as horrible a crop of fighters as some make it out to be. You’ll also have some of the young super-lightweights making their way up sometime soon. Once Bud vacates all the belts (which he should have done after the Spence victory if he knew he was going straight to 154) the division can start getting past its backlog. 147 certainly feels more international than it used to and the PBC monopoly has decreased significantly. I think we’ll be in for a lot of really good fights in the future at 147 honestly.
