Pavlik asked about his future plans:

I want to win the title and stick around. I want to fight Felix Sturm for the WBA and Arthur Abraham for the IBF and then I want to go up to 168 where Joe Calzaghe will hopefully still be around. I want to take all the belts. That’s one thing you want to conquer in this sport. You want to fight the best, even though anything can happen. You can get hit with a phantom punch, you can get robbed, you can get outboxed, and if that happens you can always say that you fought the best. That’s what I want to do. I’m looking to get those two middleweight fights in the next year and a half, no longer than that before I move up.

please, please, please let those 3 guys win their next bouts...Sturm stated 2 weeks before that he's thinking the same way (go to America and fight the winner of Pavlik - Taylor). Though AA is a question mark to come to the US and Sturm ran his mouth alot about his plans...but this would be to good to be true...

Sounds like a good plan, but hope he's only focused on Taylor right now:good I'm rooting for Kelly, but beating Taylor seems much easier when you arent standing in the ring with him. Pavlik will need the best night of his life and be willing to walk through hell, if he's gonna take it.

All well and good talking about it. He needs to do it. He beat a crude Miranda but he's in against Taylor next and that's a big step up in class. If he does the business there, then i'll be firmly on the bandwagon.

Calzaghe will be long gone by the time he moves up. Kessler, Bute, Froch and even Mundine would be more realistic fights for him.

I would love for Pavlik to beat Taylor then Sturm then Abrahms. Then he can step up to 168 to get some titles. By that point I'm sure Calzaghe won't be around.

Sturm and Abraham are completely irrelevant, as Taylor was the linear, undisputed champion and actually held all 4 belts at the same time. Someone who beats Taylor = undisputed #1 at MW.

It would be good to see the fights simply because they may be somewhat competetive, agreed...but why the thread author started mentioning Abraham's and Sturm's belts, I have no idea. :good

    Good plan . . . I hope it materializes.

I want to see him fight Abraham win or lose against Taylor.

that's the way it goes man, it's boxing. evidentley fights with some meaningless paper title attached actually sell more than fights without a title. Pretty riduculous, right?

The other belts are meaningless because Hopkins had unified and became undisputed and lineal. Re-unifying would just be a way of saying he beat the top contenders as well.

Yet, this kind of talk should be AFTER the Taylor fight. Dont look any further than tomorrow as he isnt CHAMP yet:good

Stupid comment. The guy is talking of his plan and you're saying irrelevant?

Is it the end for Pavlik if he loses to Taylor? Can't he fight Abraham or other big names? :huh

Win or lose against Taylor the guy will remain inside the top 5 position of the division and it won't be hard for him to get a shot at the titles.

As to Taylor/Pavlik I myself is rooting for Taylor but we can't count Pavlik out just like that. The guy has shown heart and determination.

Pavlik will beat Taylor on a pretty clear UD. Pavlik is skilled, big, strong and young... a combination that Taylor has never met before.

Wouldnt you rather see Taylor fight the winner of Forrest/Baldomir next?
