They're the type of fans who were scratching their heads over why a Mike Tyson/Kostya Tszyu fight was never bought to fruition.
although the chances of unifying the titles is all but impossible( even green would rofl at that suggestion ), as history proves, i don't see why green could not prove to be hard to beat against most of the top guys. but one thing for sure is he couldn't give them many pounds advantage and expect an easy night. its a question of is he physically capable of putting that weight on without losing his timing and speed. you'd think it would be unlikely he would be as effective. i think he'd be better off at light heavy. i'd like to see him up against the top guys there tbh. he'd give anyone hell there.
Green got hurt and didn't look too strong against that bum that he fought before RJ and he wasn't a proper cruiser either, only 82 kgs or so. Green against an actual cruiserweight who is world class would end in Green getting stopped, no question.
Nobody really thinks he'll fight a geniune cruiser. The cruiser title was just a handy pick-up that helped entice RJJ over. Green vs Mundine II is definately the priority for both camps regardless of what's coming out of Mundine's at present - the instant money just won't be passed up by either camp. Mundine's camp enticed Green to come-back and the deal will eventually get done, even if there are some more prelims along the way.
I agree, however i'd say Green doesn't really think he's a cruiser as well, that's why he won't chase a proper cruiser on a world stage. As CHB suggests, it was to entice RJJ over to OZ. Danny is a LHW and shld only fight LHW to be fair
