I had Vargas ahead no less than 120-103 going into the 5th rd.
Then he proceeded to dominate Pac with 20-6 rds for the remainder of the fight.

Floyd isn't concerned about Pac's skill. Pac is made for Floyd. Floyd will come back for the money, pure and simple.

 

Pac is also 6 years past his true prime.

The fact Pacquaio is still top of the tree in a division 41lbs above his initial debut fighting weight says it all about how great he is.

The Floyd/Pacquaio fight was a farce.

 

Vargas definitely won more than 2 rounds and 118-109 isn't an admirable score either. I gave Vargas 4 of the first 7 before Pac took over and outpunched and outclassed Vargas. I'm not sure if I'm disappointed in Vargas' game plan or if Manny has slowed down and could've done better in the first half.

This fight wasnt even close, the true disgrace was 114-113 card - what a complete crock of **** that was I had the fight carded at 117-112 for Manny with Vargas winning only three rounds....dont let obvious blind hate for a fighter cloud your judgment because to give this fight any other way than a UD would have been a travesty; it was a clear win!

 

Pac was past his prime and so was the older Floyd.

I don't care about the 41 pounds. Floyd weighed about the same as Pac at 15 too. The only difference you don't pro at that age in western countries. People gain weight as they mature. With that said, Pac IS a great fighter but not better than Floyd.

Yes it was a farce. Should have happened much sooner. I believe the outcome would have been the same.

Agreed. And if you watched just as closely, Pac actually KO'd Floyd. But you have to watch closely like you said.

Well, wth. Objectively, Vargas didn't win any rounds past the sixth. You had him winning all six going into round 7? Manny started early and won at least one of those by KD alone. Vargas fought like a champion for half the fight, but nobody should be taken seriously who thought he won.

 

To be honest the way boxing is scored is pretty archaic and couldn't be more opaque. It shouldn't be an issue whether one judge was preferring a certain style, it should be crystal clear what the criteria are. This just makes it all the more open to corruption.
