Vitali is a extremely awkard fighter who is aggressive and throws a very high output of punches from various angles. Im not saying Ali will beat Vitali.. but Vitali's toughest opponent was a almost 38 year old Lennox Lewis. Wlad's toughest opponent was Corrie Sanders. I do feel Ali is over rated but people like you also under rate him. which makes it perfect.

 

I personally am not a fan of Ali. Heck I even think Lewis or Vitali could easily outpoint him. But he is the greatest heavyweight ever. It doesn't only have to do with inside the ring, but also all the interest he brought to boxing. All in account its his record combined with his personality. Look at how many former champions their are. People still admire Ali to this day more than others, because he is likable...

I've never seen this in any online boxing community, including this one. Your statement would actually make more sense if you were talking about Robinson. (Even then, people are often open to debate about his place in history.)

If you're talking about Ali's place in heavyweight history, that would be a different case, but even there I've seen a fair amount of people who have Joe Louis as their number one.

Ali may have spent a lot of time promoting himself, but he has the talent and the record to back up his boasting.
