Do you see the pattern now? These guys have one thing in common - they pump their opponents up and make for good fights.

You see why Shane demolished Margarito? He had bad intentions that night, there was no way Margarito was going to win that fight. Shane had it in his head that night because of the whole wrap fiasco. He turned from good guy to bad guy!

You may not not like the whole 'trash talk' thing but it makes for better fights. And the plus side to trash talkers is that: They bring the best of out of people because they disrespect their opponents. This is why Mayorga always made for an exciting fight, because he talked utter drivel and disrespected his opponents.

Characters are needed in boxing. Mosley and Pacquiao are two nice guys, they had far, far, to much respect for one another. These two need to fight someone with bad intentions, someone to 'mock' them, this soon turns them into killers on fight night. Fact is - Mosley and Pacquiao was a stinker because they're both gentlemen. You see even on 360, there was no trash talk, NOTHING was remotely exciting prior to the fight.

You see what happened in the ring? the fight was a no show. There was no motivation, nobody was the least bit interested in making a 'war', and it was more Mosley, but Pacquiao was equally as nice - he never 'forced' Mosley to engage with him.

You know... when Tyson stepped in the ring, he had no mercy on his opponents. He'd decapitate them and brutally knock them out, there was no sparring session here, you were FORCED to fight with him.

This is why Klitschko - Haye is one of the best anticipated fights today. Haye will bring the best of Wlad, and I think it'll be exciting to see. And you know these guys have intentions to knock you the **** out.

Had to get this off my chest. I'm just recognizing what really happened out there in Pacquiao - Mosley.

Vazquez and Marquez were friendly before their bouts and they made a better fight than anyone you mentioned in all their respective fights.

It's not that easy as to one fighter having to hate another.

Being a gentleman is ok in the corporate world. If you're a manger, trainer, coach, suit and tie guy, cool. If you're a player/boxer, I don't want you being a gentleman.

Indeed. But there is a difference... All is forgotten once they step in the ring, where as Pacquiao seems to pull off the gas and carry his opponents through. And If i remember rightly (I think) Pacquiao was looking at Bayless to stop the fight vs Cotto!

Ah. Must be Margarito then. I knew Pacquiao didn't want to hurt him anymore but Margarito was still coming forward despite Pacquiao having mercy.

Mayorga was entertaining. He talked crap and then got hit in the mouth repeatedly.

However, I would worry about a fighter who needs something more than pride, money, and a competitive nature to get "up" for a fight. Gatti and Ward had tremendous amounts of respect for each other as did Vasquez and Marquez.

I like trash talkers like Mayorga, but i tend to like the humble fighters more, such as Cotto, humble outside the ring, but inside, he goes to work!

i wish we'd have more trash talkiers, assholes and loud mouths in boxing. The sport is currently full of polite and friendly nice guys with zero character. What's the point of being polite in this sport, this is not golf! both guys are going (or try) to beat the **** out of each other, talking some **** is nothing compared to the intent of laying a guy unconscious.
