This is why Hearn is currently the best promoter in the World...

I believe he is the best promoter in boxing for right now. Andrade and Tevin Farmer are doing really well with him. Jesse Vargas, Brandon Rios are staying active. You might not get paid as much as a top Al Haymon fighter but at least you can get fight dates. Haymon only favor about 5 or 6 fighters, everyone else gets scraps.

The amount of flack he and his fighters get off the American promoters and the amount of hate his fighters are getting he must be doing something right.

 

I don't understand the level of hate aimed at Hearn.

I'm not saying he don't spin, I'm not saying he don't stretch the truth sometimes, I'm not saying he don't pull fast ones but he is without doubt the best promoter in the world at this moment in time.

When you look at what he has done for certain fighters it's quite incredible, he has made fighters millionaires and others life changing money and given them amazing opportunities.

Is Hearn perfect? No

Greatest promoter of all time? No

Can Hearn be irritating and annoying? Absolutely

But can you really knock what he has done, is doing now and how he has changed certain fighters lives for the better?

No, not really, he is excellent at his job but the level of hate is completely disproportionate.


I've never read a story of Hearn robbing his fighters, I've never heard a fighter say Hearn stiffed him out of money, maybe I missed those stories, if you know of any please let me know.

 

No doubt, he lives it.

 

I don't like or respect him, and I don't care if he's putting on an endless stream of bum cards no one wants to watch. He's a smug Daddy's boy who acts the flash Harry, absolute bellend. I'm waiting for the day one of these boxers drops him for giving them lip.

 

They fear him, they see him as a threat and social media is the outlet for their defense. That sounds a bit over the top but thats how i see it. The big American Boxing promoters are worried, the TV networks are also worried. PPV has been bringing them mega bucks for years now and they dont want streaming platforms ruining their income. But DAZN and Eddie can see the PPV market has been dying in the US and streaming is the new thing so it made complete sense. Hell if Haymon, Arum and the likes played their cards right Boxing could be reinvigorated in the States and then they would all be winners.

 

Agree but his life at the moment reminds me a bit of The Greatest Showman film. Spending less time with SKY and more time with DAZN...

 

On that last point that's one thing I do like about Hearn.

He screwed over Tom Little when Tom Little flew out to Bulgaria to box Bogdan Dinu on the Pulev-Fury undercard which didn't happen because Hearn signed Dinu to box Miller. But Hearn made things right by covering Little's purse and expenses and then giving him a fight against Price on a Matchroom show. Fair play for that.

Also he famously took a loss on Bellew's Goodison Park world title show to give Bellew his dream fight. That was a masterclass move in hindsight because Bellew went on to make millions for Hearn in PPV sales but you've got to respect Hearn for pulling all the stops to give his man his dream fight.

I do think Hearn is a complete scumbag and a lying piece of **** but that's another story. One thing nobody can criticise him for, though, is for stiffing fighters and robbing them financially. It is a bit sad that we have to praise him for not being a leech but that's a sad indictment of promoters in boxing generally. It's a dirty sport outside of the ring no doubt.

 

He is simply the best.

Arum is still better at signing and developing talent. Look at his stable, and the fighters that were built by top rank.
