I also was thinking about that potential matchup, wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

I think he looked really good in the Mir fight in memphis.Think that really showcased his skills and improved him a lot. Especially enjoyed it after he ran his pie hole so much in the build up. hes certainly a scarey guy.

When he fights a one dimensional fighter past his prime then he's great!

tbf his fight against buentello is the only one I've seen where he tried to get it to the ground, he's a striker

He tried, and failed miserably, to do it against Hearing. He got outwrestled and outstruck by Heath Herring.

Why he tried to take Heath down is a mystery; the fact that he got outstruck, albeit in brief exchanges, speaks to his ability to become a champion level fighter.

Yeah, I wonder if for all his striking background he actually really hates getting hit. It seems ilke whenever he gets the chance now he tries to take it to the ground whether he's any good at it or not or if it's in his best interest of winning the fight or not. Against Herring, against Velasquez, against Buentello, his best chance of winning and getting a big bonus is to stand and throw punches and kicks. He doesn't though, and as someone else said he'll never get anywhere if he keeps doing that. He'll just beat up totally overmatched guys and lose to decent fighters.

Kongo is a mental midget. The guys as dumb as rock. Thats why despite being as stiff as Frankenstein and a half assed striker he shoots because he thinks that makes him well rounded.

im sorry i was nothing but underwhelmed by kongo if he had stayed on the feet he would have ended the fight inside of 3 minutes but he chose to be a ***** and "try" to wrestle. hes grappling against an opponent like paul is just a testiment to why he will never be more than a mid level guy.
