This is why I think Pac can't beat Mayweather (video)

i'd say his str8 right and lead left hook are his most effective....but i do agree his counters are a big part of his arsenal.

Pac's power plays more into why he has a good KO percentage not so much the accuracy....

couple things. A superfeatherweight fight is a lot different then welterweight. Welters are bigger, punches hurt more, less speed, etc.

Floyd isnt marquez. Marquez threw combinations and backed pacquiao up at a times. And he had the chin to take punishment and return it. Floyd generally doesnt do that stuff. Plus he tends to fight southpaws on the front foot.

3 , Manny has gotten better. The reason JMM was giving manny problems was him walking backwards and circling to his left. Manny just kept following him. Roach will make sure Manny will keep moving to his right and cut the ring off and stay away from the right.

 

Pac is going to get his ass taxed.

Mayweather is very responsible when fighting southpaws. Hands high countering. Pac is going to be letting it all hang out by the 6th. Eating shots all night. By the 8th Mayweather will be stalking him and landing stiff 1-2s.

 

Let's hope we all get to see if your prediction is right! You really think Floyd is gonna have a cake walk in there with Manny?

 

How many people here think a portion of this fight will take place in the pocket?

1) It's easier to land body shots there, which emmanuel has shown susceptibility to
2) The angle advantages of being a southpaw go out of the window since the shoulders are squared, and therefore it's easier to use the shoulder roll guard
3) Floyd is a very good inside fighter, but emmanuel can't fight there for ****. Erik Morales and Juan for hire had success smothering emmanuel.

 

I doubt the majority of the will be in the pocket. PAC typically never fights in the pocket and that's not really where Floyd normally has his fights either.

Shoulder roll on southpaws doesn't really work that well which is why Floyd won't be looking to use that tactic if they end up fighting.

Floyd is the better in fighter but PAC's not gonna lay on the inside. He'll be in and out trying to control distance. That's gonna be the most trouble for Manny in my opinion. But I do believe PAC's offense will overwhelm Floyd not giving him much opportunity to create a steady flow of offense.

 

I don't. Almost everyone who fights Floyd wants to throw a lot of punches to pressure him. He's seen a 100 different variations of this strategy and is very well versed in it. He can easily lead them to his dance.

 

1.Floyd against any southpaw he faced was bodily assaulted big time.2 If Floyd circles left its a done deal for Mr.Fantastic angles especially with Floyd's reach.3 Floyd will be in his peak a boo stance if Manny is in range and we all know Manny is most effective mid range(see Floyds reach) as opposed to close especially due to the fact he needs to wind up and step into his shots much like Happy Gilmore needs to step into his swing. Floyd can be a highly effective "in the pocket" fighter who throws very crisp, pin point accurate surgical shots with the only expense being a loss in power. In lamest terms "Happy Gilmore" Manny Pacquiao is ****ed.:good

Good assessment of the fight, but that was 130lbs my friend. JMM had alot more power, speed, and reflexes to be able to catch Manny. Yes, Floyd is a league above JMM, but lets not forget Floyd is much more defensive at 147, while Pacman's offensive seems to be almost the same. Take into account he has better footwork and ring generalship along with the speed and power, Pacman isn't one dimensional anymore. As he as skillful as Floyd? Nope, no one is, but Pacman has that awkwardness in his timing and footwork enough to confuse Floyd. Simply put the JMM that Floyd fought is not the same fighting machine Pacman fought. It' easy to say, "Well, all Floyd has to do is mimic JMM and he will beat Pacman.", but then Floyd today is not the risk taker he used to be nor the puncher he was in his younger days. He's also not beating Pacman the same way he beat JMM because it's obvious Pacman is much younger than JMM and carried his speed and power much better than JMM did. I wouldn't pick JMM to beat Cotto or Clottey at 147 neither.
