This is why I want to see Floyd fight Pacquiao at 140 specifically.

    wow thats a good stat!

Mayweather can do 140, it isnt wise to do so late in a career as Roy jones can testify but he could it.

It definately shouldnt happen at 147!

Mayweather should fight Margarito, Cotto, Williams, Berto if he comes back.

fully fed training and with full breakfast on weight in, pac was 142 for the dlh fight. possibly 144~145 if the scales were tampered as suspected.

pac at his heaviest is in the twilight zone between 140 and 147.

but with all this hate on him, what the hell. i prefer pac go ahead and fight floyd at 147. give him all the advantage.

so if he manages to do an upset, there can be no doubt on his accomplishment. it will be for the ages.

but if floyd wins it will just continue to prove floyd ducked fights in his weight, preferring to fight smaller guys.

Why? Give me a legit reason why they should fight at a catch weight.

Actually PBF himself said he didn't want to fight Cotto. He used the excuse that he was too green.
That interview has been posted on here many times. He actually wanted Hatton and after Hatton struggled with Collazo he said he wasn't ready for PBF.

Floyd is a calculated boxer....he'll weigh out risk right there in the ring or have his gameplan before a fight happens. i still want to see the fight anyway but comparing Floyd vs Gatti and thinking Floyd would fight the same way vs PAC won't happen. Floyd is a VERY, VERY intelligent fighter! Doing what he did with Gatti was done for a reason and Floyd felt there was little to no risk engaging Gatti due to the difference in skill and speed. Floyd will have a GREAT game plan worked up for PAC should they fight...unfortunately it won't be one that sees floyd taking risks. But it will be very technical....at least from Floyds side...PAC will try to make it a fight and that could be where his game plan falls short in there with Floyd. We'll See.

Coming down in weiht is a very diffcult thing for a boxer to do espicialy as they get older. Mayweather might not be as old as De La Hoya, Jones and Byrd but it would still be a very impressive feat if he beats the winner of Pacquiao/Hatton at 140. It would most likely place him in my all time top 10.

Stop lying. Cotto's trainer/uncle and Arum said their charge wasn't ready for Floyd yet. Cotto's uncle said he didn't want the fight at 140 because Cotto wasn't ready which was good because Cotto was not feeling physically good at 140. Cotto felt better at 147.

Hatton did the same thing from 147 back to 140 and Ricky and floyd are close in age. 140 not a problme for Floyd who is always around 160 or so. He stays in shape and is very healthy. The only thing any fighter will have problems with no matter how in shape or out of shape they are is Ring Rust! Which might be an issue for Floyd.....but I'm not confident enough to go against Floyd etching out a decision with PAC. Logic always says to go with the boxer....and even though PAC defies logic a lot....floyd is a special boxer.

nobody is talking about tony here but yeah, definitely yeah him too :yep.

actually, i agree with you on most of your points. but it does not look good that floyd if he comes back, his last 2 fights are with equally small hatton and pac. i can understand people retiring to enjoy their money. but him doing peek a boos selectively just drives us nuts.

so if he does fight pac - and i prefer him fight pac more than anybody else for the biggest p4p battle we could ever have, i would want him fight at least 2 others in his weight. give a sense of justice or at least a semblance of sanity in this sports.

Arum was Cotto's "people." Arum (at the time) was Floyds "people" too. Arum didnt' want to put his future payday in front of Floyd cuz Floyd woulda tore Cotto up..especially at 140!

that is a pretty shitty example of why you want to see him at 140
gatti had already been tenderized by numerous fighters including the severe mugging de la hoya gave him a few years before this fight
pac and gatti are incomparable the speed is night and day and well the defense gatti had none the only thing comparable is power which pac is probably slightly behind(maybe not)
with a guy like pac he seems to carry the weight better every time he moves up in weight speed stamina power seem always to remain in the 40 lbs of weight divisions he has been through
while pac seems to fight the same as in he did in the lighter weights
floyd has generally been a defensive minded fighter since leaving 135(besides a few cant miss targets
pac would probably be the one to make mayweather fight due to his smaller size and speed mayweather would probably believe he is the stronger of the two and with mannys speed he would need to get engaged at certain times
