    its great to see martial arts and combat sport on tv, the more, the merrier, different strokes and all that, BUT ufc and the like has no history, background and lacks pedigree, boxing has been around a long, long time. it IS proven and has a worldwide audience while ufc may appeal to a certain demographic who enjoy its baser qualities, as they prob dont understand the more complex sport of boxing (white, male, under 25) is it just a fad? time will tell....

    One sport can't kill another; there are plenty of boxing fans and MMA fans; alot of fans, like myself, like both.

    Comparing the two, though a legitimate arguement, is still comparing apples and oranges. Sure, two sports so similiar in essence, are going to compete for fans and finances. But in the end, with this competition, like Bernard Hopkins said (I forgot the direct quote), everyone wins because promoters will seek the best fights for the bigger audience.
