**** man, I thought opinions was what this site was all about!. I guess the truth is none of us involved in this discussion are experts and as such our knowledge is limited and our opinions are divided. If I read a study/report that proclaims long-term steroid use as safe, like you I shall gracefully concede! As you rightly put it, on to talking mma, that's what we're here for!! Regarding Alistair Overeem (Who this thread was originally about I saw him fight in Pride, looking positively svelte, now he is like the ****ing hulk!! I don't know if the guy has used anything, but I would guess he probably has! 40lb of additional muscle is a lot to build naturally, surely?
:good The point I wanted to make, (and was unable to do so). As you rightly say, no-one has actually died from steroid abuse, it is the damage to the organs that long-term mis-use can cause. I guess I ****ed up a tad, sorry guys!.
heehee..that much we agree on. His body is certainly of the enhanced variety. You can see the evolution of drug/steroid use. At one time it was evident by the ache, bloated, constantly sweating look. Now the lines remain clean, the complexion is improved (thanks to HGH) and there are not these HUGE fluctuations in weight (once again thanks to HGH and/or PCT). I think the real proof of the long term benefit of steroids/HRT is that they are used at life extension clinics, as well as more well researched dr's who understand their proper use.
D-Bol, Test, and HGH. End of thread. I remember when Ricardo Arona, and Shogun was throwing Overeem around at 205 in 2007. Now he is on his way to looking like Bob Sapp. His face has actually changed shape due to acromegaly (an over abundance of GH). I would never take HGH. It is very expensive, and it can make you look like the locked up guy in the basement from the goonies or Shannon Briggs. Do I have any doubt that Overeem is juicing? None at all. And I know pretty well what I am talking about. I am not some guy that searches everything on the internet quickly, and then pretends to be an expert.
My concern is regarding their mis-use/abuse, which is undoubtedly due to ignorance. Where I am from, the guys who have "Indulged" (Some of whom are as young as 18, for ****s sake!!) are most certainly not professionals and have purchased something they know less about than I do (Which is very little). If you ask them "Why?" they have taken steroids, the answer is invariably the same "To get big!". And if you ask them if there are aware of any possible long-term dangers involved they will invariably say "So and so has been on them for years and he's ok!!!" And the guy they are talking about will be about 24!!! I agree that you know more about steroids than me and if someone came to someone like you they could receive advise that could possibly enable them to make gains without risking long-term damage through serious mis-use. The problem is that very often it is a case of "The blind leading the blind" and that is what most concerns me. Whenever I have been asked for advice (I have trained almost all my adult life) I always say "Don't" and I always admit that I say so because I don't know enough about them! And your point that steroids/HRT are used in life extension clinics is an excellent one and as that is undoubtedly proof then to you sir I tip my hat!.
Overeem is not on steroids, and a very skilled fighter. He is way more skilled fighter now at HW, than at CW where he use to fight and not as good.
