W.Klitschko is probably the most efficient boxer I have ever watched. (35 years of watching) BUT.......tonight was a prime example of why the haters and KO lovers have an ammo box full of rounds. W.Klit had several opportunities to put RC down for the count but did not pull it off. Don't think I'm a hater, I'm not. In fact I think of myself as an ardent fan but after the fight I was left feeling more disappointed than elated over W.Klit's win. W.Klit did not jump on RC as hard as he should have in the 2nd rd knock down. Granted it was a flash KD but still, RC WAS rattled and W.Klit had a prime opening to make an early,impressive statement by way of KO but didn't pull it off. In the later rds W.Klit had RC on the ropes and was landing numerous L's and R's, most of which blasted RC through his own gloves but yet again, didn't pull it off. I knew W.Klit was gonna win the fight after the cut happened and I knew how he was gonna win. TKO. I was hoping for the KO but knew W.Klit was gonne be "efficient" and keep pounding till the cut opened up more, RC gave up or his corner threw in the towel. The DR. stopped the fight but we all know RC had given up by that point. W.Klit won. That is the final score. I'm not happy with the kind of win it was but my happiness is not on the W.Klit list of things to accomplish. I am fairly certain of that. What he DID accomplish is to win the ring mag's Heavyweight title. And that, my friends, was W.Klit's objective. No one can deny that he accomplished this goal by being efficient. The haters will keep on hating. The KO lovers will still be bemoaning the lack of KO's and W.Klit will keep on winning............and being efficient.
Wlad does not come in an exite the fans like a Tyson , Frazier , or Marciano, but he is good at what he does, and it works for him. He is clearly the best Heavyweight in the world, and I think he he reigns on topfor at least another 2 yrs.
Yeah but had he finished him of in the 2nd, the haters would say chag was crap, not ready, still ill etc etc, wlad cant ****ing win so **** it why should he care, hes still the man and has another few million in the bank, is loved in germany and europe, and im sure would laugh at some of the threads on here at times
Lewis was hated as much..in his day....wait 6 years after Wlad and Vitili retire then they will be liked, just like Liston and Lewis. The next round Chag would have gone down, twice? Why should Wlad take chances, he knows a single punch can turn a fight around....Vitilie said that often even before Sanders happened to Wlad.
But the differneence is that the haters are not BOXING fans. If they want blood and guts they should watch ultimate fighting, or move to a country where they have public executions, or maybe just beat their wives or stab random people in alley ways. Wlad dropped and stopped an undefeated two time amatuer world champ turned professional world champ without loosing a five seconds of the fight, much less a round, and he did it with scientific boxing, the manly art of self defense, the ability to hit and not get hit. Any BOXING fan is excited. Look, as some guys will tell you, there used to be no bigger Wlad critic than I, back when Wlad used to losse and claim to be poisoned. But the man has clearly through hard work turned himself into a great champion, and is building an important legacy.
I came to the conclusion the Wlad of 01-03 is dead and gone, Corrie "The Wlad Slayer" Sanders destroyed that part of Wlad. With the help of Manny, Wlad is extremely effective and will make sure his glass chin is not exposed like that ever again.
good job for wlad to get the win, but please have some killer instinct, the guy was like 6'1(generous) for christ sakes finish the job.........pathetic
This is a good post and I agree. Wlad also always comes in top shape and is a class act outside the ring. he should be a role model for other heavies who lack his discipline.

I dont hate the Klits at all.. Im not exactly jumping up and down when watching his fights but i give him all the credit. Much respect. I admire him for the fact that he's probably THE only HW who's 100% dedicated to his craft and comes in -shape all the time.. That's respectable. He's not the sterotypical modern HW fighter with man boobs, beer belly etc..lazy ass mutha****ers. Most of us would agree that Wlad is a true student of the game. I mean it just shows in his every fight. U can see him adding new dimensions to his game and constantly improving. I thought his stamina issues/panic attacks would plague his career but he's overcome that obstacle.. Wlad is a great fighter.
but it would be interesting to see now Wlad vs Sanders. Or al least someone so that big and not defencive
Sanders is completely done, though. HE got Koed By 1 or 2 in his last (cant remember) against a journeyman.
