little note...i dont hate the klits. I respect them for being in awesome shape, all business, they will fight anyone, anytime...and doing what they can in one of the worst heavyweight eras EVER :good But i do hate most of their fans who rank them with god like status and have never seen boxing before them If youre gonna call him top 10 all time great (some idiots call him top 5 ) atsch you have to look at more than just a nice padded 40-2 record with 38 KOs his 2 losses? TKO losses....Vitalis best win? who knows. His bigggest fight he lost and against a guy who was out of shape and out the door. he has had height, weight, reach advantage over everyone. so how you win is taken into acct when it comes to ATG status. Call me a BOXREC warrior all you want because most fans hate FACTS ....WTF ever...youre an idiot if you dont reference the stats and call him a top 10 guy all time.... EXAMPLE look at tyrone brunson, was 19-0 19 first round kos. WOW, amazaing but if you look at his opponents you would know 12 of those 19 had 2 wins or less. in his 16th pro fight was 16-0 with 16 kos and fighting a guy making his pro debut atsch Perspective :deal first 10 #1 1996 Tony Bradham record 6-3 6 ft 1 227 #2 1996 Frantisek Sumina record 2-17 6 ft 4 241 #3 1996 Brian Sargent record 9-8 6 ft 2 231 #4 1997 Mike Acklie record 11-13 5 ft 11 229 #5 1997 Troy Roberts record 8-3 6 ft 2 234 #6 1997 Calvin Jones record 20-16 6 ft 6 282 #7 1997 Derrick Roddy record 17-11 6 ft 6 223 #8 1997 Cleveland Woods record 14-11 6 ft 2 233 #9 1997 Jimmy Haynes record 10-5-1 6 ft 2 ? #10 1997 Will Hinton record 16-11 6 ft 1 ? pretty shitty caliber of guys considering Vitali was a former heavyweight kickboxing champion opponents wins 113 opponents losses 95 fights 11-20 will be posted in a few...and oh...its gets better :hi:
Sonny Liston, Joe Louis and Harry Wills aside, there aren't many great HW's who have comp that is that much better for their opening ten, and some, George Foreman for example, have opening comp that is worse. I'll be interested to see what he did up to fight 20, but this is basically meaningless.
I don't think you're such a BOXREC warrior at all, because then you would know what this TKO losses really are... This content is protected , no beatdowns, no knockdowns, in front at all cards. I don't think he's a all time top20, but get your so called FACTS straight! :good
You expect him to fight top 10 guys in the division in his first 10 fights or what? Go look at who Lennox or Foreman fought their first 10 fights. That's how the game is played for the most part, you build (or pad if you prefer to say) your record and get experience, rack up a 30-0 record and challenge for a title. Using this argument to deny or confirm ATG status is pretty weak, and irrational.
fights 11-20 #11 Gilberto Williamson record 4-3-3 6 ft 3 #12 Herman Delgado record 12-8-1 6 ft 0 Delgado lost 8 of 12 fights going in. 4 of the wins were against suspect opponents with ZERO proffessional fights before and never a fight after) #13 Anthony Willis record 16-6 6 ft 1 Willis had lost 5 of 8 bouts going in and lost 6 of his next 9 fights #14 Marcus Rhode record 20-7 6 ft 2 rhode loses 34 of his next 48 fights #15 Alben Belinski record 5-0 6 ft 1 guy never had another fight ever #16 Louis Monaco record 7-11 5 ft 11 momnaco in 13 fight losing streak #17 Levi Billups record 21-16 6 ft 0 Billups had lost 11 of 14 fights going in #18 Julius Francis record 18-6 6 ft 2 francis loses 18 of his next 22 fights #19 Dicky Ryan record 46-3 6 ft 2 out of ryans 46 wins, 16 opponents had a winning record so there were 7-6 , 10-8 guys that counted as a winning record, but sucked beyond belief) #20 Jose Ribalta record 39-14 Ribalta had lost 10 out of his last 18 when he fought vitali.... 5 of the guys ribalta actually beat had records of 4 wins 50 losses, 2 wins 19 losses, 11-31, 9-31, 3 wins and 41 losses so even in his 20th fight, he was fight guys washed up beyond belief.... even with Dickie Ryans JOKE of a record opponents wins 188 (4 guys acct for 124 wins) opponents losses 73
for christ sakes dummies im breaking it up into 4 parts..no one would read it if it was all in 1 lump post
I suppose you can call "injury" in the Byrd fight, Vitali's shoulder going was unlucky. Lewis fight though? Totally different kettle of fish. Being stopped on cuts caused by punches is a little different hurting your shoulder or twisting your ankle. Byrd you can say didn't technically beat Klitschko, Lewis did.
it was an example of you can NOT just look at a guys record like most vitali fans do and say 40-2 (38 by KO) records better than tyson, holyfield, frazier, ali, its not black and white people out there really think because he has the highest "knock out rate" at 94% he must hit way harder than liston, foreman, tyson ect ect without looking at the opponents Brunson was an example that records are deceiving...yeah vitali is a milliuon miles ahead of him in talent, only thing compared was the nice records
dont matter...they are LOSSES....he could not answer the bell, and some would say as much as he was beating byrd, he could have stayed away for 3 more rounds...you know, like ALL TIME GREATS do, fight through adversity...ali-broken jaw for 11 rounds? legit injury or not, he quit where others didnt...danny williams arm was falling off him and he didnt quit....just saying :think
Agree with you on that one... but the TS wrote it down as Vitali beïng punched in submission, as much as I like Lennox that wasn't the case. And Byrd's win was one of the most lucky ones in HW history.
I have it 1. Valuev 2. Ali 3. Louis 4. Holmes 5. Frazier 6. Lewis 7. Holyfield 8. Ruiz 9. Chagaev 10. Haye 11. Foreman 12. Marciano 13. Liston 14. Dempsey 15. Sam Langford 16. Michael Bentt 17. Tommy Morrison 18. Wladimir Klitschko 19. Vitali Klitschko 20. Mike Tyson I thought everybody had it that way.
The only people who think he hits harder than Liston, Foreman or Tyson are idiots. No amount of arguing will change their opinion. Most people know that he is borderline top 20 alltime at best.
