I know the ATG list is just a discussion and not really based on who would beat who. But I really cant see how marciano would have got close to beating vitali ever

He could slot in there. But I feel some of his biggest wins were against past it fighters.... (Tyson, Tua,) His win against Holyfield was good but I think holyfield overall is more deserving.

    most people like to say...
put marciano in the 2000 era, modern this, modern that....and he would be bigger, faster and all that.... but the guy was 5 foot 9 maybe...? vitali being nearly 6 foot 8 and likes to box, marciano would never get close to him ...yeah its all mythical debates, but i dont think marciano would do well, he would be a small cruiserweight even in modern times

He was as tall as Tyson and he trained down to his weight. He was bigger naturally but he trained down to 185.

iceman this is what I mean. I mean I know that vitali isnt everyones fav and I can see both sides to the bros. I think they suffer from being way better than most in this era so we never know how truely great they are. But I can see a case for them in the ATG list, if someone like marciano is allowed in.

Surely a TKO loss due to injury is a.... erm TKO loss?

What the only HW to ever retire undefeated in the era when there was only one champ, the hardest working HW probably ever in terms of training and fighting heart, also one of the hardest punchers ever, yeah who let him in :patsch

    FIGHT # 31 Ross Puritty 28-14
definition of a journeyman but a dangerous one...but having 14 losses, i mean..youre supposed to beat him after 30 fights :good

    FIGHT # 32 Vaughn Bean 42-2
Bean was painful to watch and his record is joke
his first 8 opponents had a total of 6 wins.
his next 12 opponents had 53 wins 107 LOSSES
he won 21 out of his next 23, 5 guys had winning records, 0 were ranked in the top 25 with one guy having 80 losses  oh and 2 bean lost were to holyfield and moorer...you know..winning records
Bean is 6 ft 1 211 pounds....it took the giant vitali 11 rounds to wear him down and tire him out for a weak ass tko

FIGHT #33 Larry " The Legend" Donald
quick one here...who cares... you cant even lay this guy out

    FIGHT #34 Lennox Lewis
vitali gets more respect in a loss than he did in his previous 33 wins
great fight, came in on short notice, gave a little, took alot. but he lost.

    FIGHT #35 Kirk Johnson
legit top guy, yeah he came in like a fat ass, but got dealt with like youre supposed to do to a guy who comes in grossly out of shape..johnson outweighs vitali by 20 pounds. johnson could hit and was dangerous. but hasnt won a significant fight since...not Vitalis fault here...

im still not seeing all time top 10 great yet......... his last 7 fights next

    to be continued :hi:
