Both Ali and Frazier almost killed themselves in their brutal Manila war, they showed incredible heart. Also anybody with half a brain knows that Ali would have gotten up for that - possibly tragic - 15th round that would have occurred had Frazier's corner not pulled him out.
Ok, but this dude who started this thread doesn't know **** about boxing. Ali example shows that most great fighters have their bad moments and this shouldn't overshadow their talent and achievments.
really? what era was worse? please do tell me god of knowledge? a decade where John Ruiz can fight for the WBA title a record 12 times and also manage to lose to 2 former middleweght champs. a 7 foot 345 pound lump of a crap champion that gets taken 12 rounds and should have lost to a 46 year old Holyfieldand loses to a cruiserweight. God awful guys who should have never held a title if the era didnt suck in Mascaev, Sam Peter, Chagev. and the list of yawners that no one will ever talk about EVER in regards to ever being in a good scrap or having a fight that meant something that got to fight for the heavyweight championship Kevin Johnson Albert Sosnowski Carl Davis Drummond Okhello Peter Jameel McCline Monte Barrett Fres Oquendo DaVarryl Williamson Calvin Brock Ray Austin Tony Thompson Sultan Ibragimov Owen Beck Matt Skelton if this doesnt constitute as worst ever group of challengers, then youre the one that knows **** about boxing. other than the 2 brothers...this era has been PATHETIC , but if you think it was a great competitive era then i suppose you like to watch paint dry and grass grow
hey dummy the point was Ali had adversity with a broken jaw- DIDNT QUIT danny williams shoulder was dislocated , hanging at his side...he DIDNT QUIT Vitali dislocated his and was way ahead on the cards and QUIT sorry, sounds shitty, but he quit where others did not... once again in all time greatness, you lose points by quitting AND NOT EVEN ATTEMPTING TO FINISH ..... CANT MAKE IT ANY MORE SIMPLIER FOR YOU MORON :hi:
WELL, HE ****ING LOST DUMMY. he lost because he got punched in the face by a past his prime lewis and had his face ripped off. and by QUITTING and not even trying to make it 3 more rounds when you are 7 inches taller and 40 pounds heavier than your feather fisted opponent shows no balls. other guys have fought with broken jaws, dislocated shoulders and DIDNT quit. so forget about the 2 LOSSES...where are his big wins dude? whats his claim to fame we will talk about 10 years from now? :huh
im not sure you have understood a ****ing word i said...you are a moron the whole point of using boxrec was to show you how shitty opponents records are and the ones that appear ok, are padded. what does 1-10-1975 mean? whats your point? i own over 90,000 boxing films/dvds and have collected them for 24 years , ive watched my share...and not the **** ones you probably watch on youtube dummy
If the Lewis fight wasnt stopped when it was, Vitali may have been seriously injured and had his boxing career ended. Vit had one eye and was gonna eat Lewis rights hand into one of the worse boxing cuts I have seen. And Vit was only ahead on points because he threw everything into the rounds, knowing his cut was serious and getting worse. Lewis, 38, at the back end of his career was still too much for Vitali - Not many fighters bow out, beating the next dominant heavyweight, when I say dominant I use the term loosely as the no 1 and 2 wont fight each other, which is reason enough for neither to be top 20 ATGs
Even Audley Harrison showed mare balls in his last fight with Sprott than Vitali 'Oooh me poorly rotator cuff' Quitsko has
people ***** about the klitschkos being boring. which is understandable. But they are the only thing keeping the HW divisions pulse beating right now. Enjoy it while it lasts.
The pulse slowed considerably when Lewis retired though. But regardless, it's not their fault the opposition is substandard.
I like VitKlit and really wish someone woul dtell him that if he wants to be remembered, he has more work to do.
