Super_Fly_Sam Aus Boxer ESB Senior Member This content is protected Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Australia Posts: 1,477 vCash: 500 Top This content is protected Lost last night Oz mate, i lost my fight last night in my hometown on points.... good fight though.. i saw it as i won the 1st, second even but prob a slight edge to the other guy coz my nose was bleedeing up pretty good like always, and 3rd to him........ heaps of people said i was robbed but... i dont agree i know what punches we were both landing and missing with so i dont think i would feel right if i got the decission.... but on a better side of things.. i swear it was good night... really nothin better then fighting in ya hometown and i fi would have won it woulda been the best night ever.... i had my nan and pop come down to watch (pop fought pro back in the 40's and 50's), had a few cuz's come down.. mum, dad my sister and her boyfriend.. heaps of family friends and heaps of mates from school and round town it was good as... i had a heaps big entouragew alk me to the ring aswell coz it was sorta a fair way from the rooms we were warmin up in to the ring... had like 10 people walkin in in front of my clearing they way my 2 trainers to the side and like another 5 or 6 behind and they were like grabbin my shoulders and stuff.. then when we got to the ring they made a long gaurd of honour and i walked through and up the stairs to the ring... during the fight the crowd was goin mad aswell.. coz i was like the main supporting fight for the main event.... they were all screamin my name and singing GO SAM real loud... the the other guy (who only came from a place bout an hour away) had about 10 of his friends how came to watch and they started chanting JOEY JOEY JOEY but there voices just got drowned by a few hundred people who started chantin SAM SAM SAM... When we went center ring for the decision the crowd started goin mad again and chantin my name loud as (full on like hundreds of them) and even after the ref raised the other guys hand they stil were singin my name.... After the fight heaps and heaps of people came up to me and were shakin my hand and stuff congradulating me and sayin i got robbed and stuff (i still thought the decission was right though no excuses) best night goin i swear... Nothin like fighting in the home town Oz best atmosphere.. cant wait for next fight at home. Like I said..... Sammy is a class act.:good
He is an asset to this forum, doesnt talk ****, always willing to listen and has valid opinions. Id love to see some pros have this attitude to the game, your a true gem Sammy. I bet he could take most of us down with a single shot.

I thought yanks would get it, so much of their humour is based on it. But **** me seppos just dont get it, they seriously think you are having a go at them when you are clearly just mucking around. That being said its so natural to us, but I bet if we could see ourselves doing it from the outside looking in we probably think it was fair dinkum aswell. I guess we are to dry and subtle about it.
He is a great kid and if I had a son, I would be proud as all heck if he turned out with Sammy's attitude to life........ (of course if he was the same colour as Sammy......the Missus might have a little explaining to do) atsch
