This makes you realize how tough Cotto and Mosley were

Mosley was tough as hell in that Canelo fight. That fight actually made me question Canelo's power, as Mosley didn't appear discouraged at all by the clean shots he was taking. In his other losses, Shane would so often go into a defensive shell. Forrest, DLH rematch (not technically a loss), Winky, Floyd, Pacquiao all made Shane go into a shell and be tenative because of the shots he was taking. He did this less against Cotto, but he held a lot. A shot Shane barely did any of this against Canelo, so it made wonder what kind of pop Canelo had. But Canelo does have solid power.

I didn't think the Cotto fight was nearly as close as others did. The judges going Canelo 11 rounds was ridiculous, but I didn't think it was close. Competitive, but not close. I thought Cotto won 3, maybe 4 rounds. I was a lot more impressed by Canelo's overall skills then than I had been earlier. Years earlier I had been pretty unimpressed with him as a whole, but it was that fight when I definitely saw noticeable improvement from before, and he has developed into an excellent fighter.

Yeah I think Shane knew that it was his last stand and was hoping to just drown the younger man in deep waters.
    Tremendously courageous effort

Um I think it had more to do with skills than toughness.
I mean, Cotto did not have the skills to deal with Margarito, and he wilted similar to how Smith did vs Canelo.

It´s really ****ing hard to be though when you are completely outclassed.

Same. I had it a draw.

    Cotto boxed beautifully that night.

You could see all the needle marks in Canelo's abdomen that night too.

I thought he put in the best performance he could have possibly done against an ATG entering his prime 10 years younger and 15 pounds heavier.

Stylistically, Cotto was my favourite fighter. Awesome left hook.

Yeah very beautiful to watch elegant movement but with a brutal attack at 140 and 147 and never in a boring fight. He's probably lost a liter of blood in the ring over the years. I've lost count how often he was bruised, cut, hurt etc

    Ouch.....

I remember when Margarito shredded him up in the 1st fight. After that, it was almost a dead cert that he would easily bruise up or get cut in fights. His face was like papier mache after 2008.

He got his ass kicked LEGITIMATELY by Antonio Margarito & never complained until the Plaster lies started & Margarito got wrongly suspended. Cotto still didnt ask for a rematch until he knew Tony's eye had been permanently damaged by Pac. They made sure of that when they made Tony break training & fly across country so that Cotto's doctor could examine his eye. The rematch was almost a carbon copy of the first except Tony was blind in one eye from round 2 when Cotto targetted it. The doc knew this but didnt think about stopping the fight until Cotto started to wilt AGAIN!! & the doc feared Cotto would quit AGAIN!!. He stopped the fight to save Cotto the embarrassment of quitting on his knees AGAIN !! Cotto failed against a one eyed Tijuana Tornado had to let the doc save him

The body shots Mosley took were brutal. There was some parts of the fight where I thought he might wilt under the body attack, but he was a rock.

Yeah, I was disappointed canelo could not put a dent in old mosley, i questioned his power after that. It wasn't a good fight at all.
