Can all sane minds agree that this is exactly the type of fight that Floyd never sings for ?? Lets get real here... No way in hell that he would ever sign to fight prime Roberto Duran...

Assuming you're fan of boxing you generally focus on the more positive aspects of the game. I don't hear a lot of people focusing on the time Tyson took a bite out of Holyfield's ear when his name is brought up. Most focus on the destruction he caused in the ring. But if you think about what he did, it's every bit a quite job that Duran did only perhaps worse because in intentionally injured his opponent on top of quitting.

Personally I think the two Leonard fights pretty much cancel each other out. Duran had one of the greatest wins ever in the first bout and committed an unforgivable sin in the second bout, which is too bad for Duran cause he was about the last person anyone would have expected to quit and it certainly gives ammunition to his detractors. When I say cancel each other out, I'm not talking about who I think would win in their primes, or who's better p4p rather I'm talking about the results in the body of Duran's accomplishments and failures.

As for the movie, let's wait and see what it's about, I know the "no mas" fight will be the center piece, but I expect much of the history of who Duran was to be included as well. I also expect that the movie will be balanced between the 'no mas' incident and his entire career if for no other reason as to highlight how much of an aberration this really was.

no they dont, and me bing a observer have duran at no.41 at. and leoanrd at no.15 all time. huge gulf in talent and accomplishments. leonard dominated duran, and my ranking shows it. beating davey moore and barkley doesnt make duran a special fighter. hopkins is fifty in a unification fight that is special.

For the record, Mayweather beat Castillo in the first fight, with a bad arm. No one wanted to fight Williams because there was no money in it. If you think that Williams would get off 100 punches a round against Mayweather then you need to think about it a little deeper. Williams had to be set to punch, a fleet of foot boxer like Mayweather would have Williams resetting to punch all night long, in addition to being potshot first by Mayweather while he was resetting all through the fight. The movement Martinez gave Williams troubled him. The Punisher was tough on stationary fighters like Winky and Margarito but the fact that he lost a decision to Quintana should tell you something.
