This middleweight ERA is weak because the 'top dogs' are scared of ONE MAN

It can't be denied, nobody with anything to lose wants Golovkin, he's too much of a risk for too little reward.

Hopkins had a similar situation when he was at middleweight, he was ducked by Don Kings title holders Joppy and Holmes for years it took Tito coming up for a tournament to be made and for Hopkins to get his shot at greatness.

I had coped when Cotto and then Canelo came up they'd show the courage to step in with Golovkin. You can criticise Tito of many things but he showed more desire and self belief than Cotto or Canelo have.

If HBO tried to make a middleweight tournament now I doubt you'd get many wishing to sign up if GGG was involved, which is a shame.

 

They're all ducking Triple G hard.

It's weak because the crop of fighters at the moment are much lesser collectively than in previous eras of the middleweight division. It didn't just start within the past year or two, either, if you weren't paying attention.

 

no, Fury, Kovalev, Pac, Chocolatito, Wlad, Canelo, Crawford, Bradley all have far better wins than him and are active. I agree that Ward isnt deserving of a p4p spot anymore since he's not active anymore.

ONE guy getting ducked does not make a division weak.

The MW division is weak.....Jermaine Taylor was able to win another title....So did a shot to hell Rubio..Who would have imagined such a thing?

That doesn't happen in a strong division.

MW is weak....Dominic Wade is a #1 contender...thats WEAK.

 

Not being active is no reason to take a guy off the p4p list.

Especially when others are fighting bums.
