I used "Must" because it is a presumptive statement. I did not say, "It is..." I am laying the groundwork why it should be the biggest fight ever. One thing, the fight has not been held yet. Let's wait till the fight is over. And we'll see if all the hypes in all the media help in making this fight the biggest so far.

Just so I'm straight, someone fixating on Pac's popularity in a certain geography is riduculing others for assessing the fight based on their geography?

And, no, Pac didn't gain any celebrity in the U.S. with the DLH win.

I see your point about how Pac's popularity can follow him more closely in this day & age, but that doesn't make it "biggest fight ever". It's 2 fighters with huge, dedicated fanbases, BUT, the world over, casual sports fans who aren't fans of the fighters just aren't as interested as they have been in other fights.

How can you say Pac didnt get any celbrity from beating DLH?? Some ppl only watched boxing when DLH fought, so when Pacquaio spanked him then he really blew up. When was the last time a boxer got to throw out the first picth in a game?? Not even DLH did that before, this fight is huge all over the world. Casual fans are gonna watch it because they even seen it on CNN....CNN **** IS GETTING OUT OF CONTROL NOW..I LOVE IT!!

Two fighters make a fight, right? I am not referring to Pac's popularity per se. It is the fight itself. It is actually the synergy between the two equally exciting fighters of different regions that makes this fight the biggest fight ever. Coupled w/ the hypes it generated from unusual sources like snooty international cable provider CNN, this fight must be the biggest fight ever. It is not everyday that CNN feature a boxing match and inerview the boxers and beamed it all over the world. Why, this could be the biggest, if not the greatest fight so far. We, hardcore boxing fans, should welcome this development. It is the rennaisance of boxing.

Definitely, Americans are beginning to notice the small man from the Far East who beat their own favorrite son. You need proof: Pac is a Nike endorser along w/ Tiger Woods, Federer, Kobe Bryant, etc. Why didn't they hire good looking Oscar or even #1 P4P fighter during that time, Floyd.

A lot is riding on this. If it ends up being a good fight it will do really good for the sport. The last mega event pbf-hoya was a dud and pissed a lot off.

Yup! Let's get on. With all the hype it generated from all sources, this is going to be the biggest, if not the greatest fight ever. I'm hoping for this. This fight will save boxing.
