I have loads of Irish family living in Mayo, Cork etc. I could tell you some stories about the history of my family in Ireland that you would be VERY surprised at but that is defo not for a forum. But i just couldn't care less about all this animosity between Scotland / Ireland / England.

Sports people have always represented nations different to where they were born or grew up,Britain,just as many other regions have made use of this-at that persons request so I'm not really sure why you're so touchy about Britain doing so?

As a matter of interest have you noticed how many of the best French footballers of the last 20years are actually 'from' another country? I don't recall the whole of Britain having an issue with Zidane over who he chose to play for

Any sportsperson who represents any area will be cheered on by that nation.
Boxers in particular play on thier roots to widen the fan base,well known and accepted as part of the sport I thought.
