best of the decade?..thats debateable..he has to show me something against a non mexican fighter who is in their prime..hes made a career off of fighters in the upper tier of the lower weight classes..now as unfair as it is ....that not where history is made...IMO he needs a win over either hatton or mayweather to solidy top 3 of the decade status..clearly in the top two are mayweather and hopkins...pacman with one more big win in another wieght class throws his name in their

When you referred to Barrera, Morales and Marquez as a recycled bunch, your credibility suddenly went pfft.

The "past-it" Barrera you described narrowly lost a controversially close decision to your "well-preserved" Marquez. Did Morales go past his physical prime after the brutal first fight with Pacquiao?

Marquez has the style to be competitive with Pac, but never mistake being competitive with winning. People get used to Pacquiao blowing out opponents that when someone gets competitive with him, it is seen as winning. And don't start with the schooling stuff. You don't school someone and get your face battered, your nose busted and get flattened on your back several times.

If you consider that schooling, then surely the student has a few Ph.D.'s under his belt more than the teacher.

If the "overrrating" gets under your skin, too bad, **** happens. I myself find a lot of threads about PacMan here plainly ridiculous, but when someone accomplishes something as big as what he just did, people are bound to be awed for a long time. Deal with your demons.

So Salvador Sanchez, Wilfredo Gomez, Willie Pep et al did not make boxing history? Or you just pulled that out of your ass?

Yawn. Whenever anyone achieves anything in this sport there are threads like this made. A former flyweight world champion won a world title at lightweight this year and won a fight at welterweight. Neither of these things had ever been done before in the history of the sport. Pacquiao deserves every accolade he gets and more. If you think Barrera was "past his best" at his first fight with Pacquiao, then you nothing of MAB's career. I can't even be bothered going through the rest of your biased and ill-informed post, there is just too much **** to wade through and I don't have the time or energy. Pacquiao is a modern legend. You should be grateful we have him, not trying (and failing) to pick holes in his career with this sort of garbage.

Very good post - the only disagreement is that I would give Pac full credit for the 1st Barrera fight, MAB came to fight Pac the 1st time as MAB was the bigger man at the time & Pac took him out, if MAB didnt fight defensively the 2nd time & came for war then I think Pac takes him out again.
I agree on the Morales & Marquez vs Pac views.

NO..its posters like you that start these types of threads and you're just getting the usual reply. You will always make yourself look stupid once you start degrading Pac's accomplishments. You pretend to praise him, but you're doing more damage by discrediting his wins:deal

    No.

Despite my feelings on the physical state of DLH at 147 vs Pac, Pac should still at his size not have been able to do what he did to Oscar.

This fight sealed the deal for me regarding Pacquiao as an ATG, no doubt some will exagerate & some will downplay what Pac-man did vs DLH but he is a little warrior, he showed no fear whatsoever & did everything correct IMO.

I will add, I think Morales was a better 122 lber than Pac was at any of his weights but when you start at 106 (teenager or not) & win a fight... ANY FIGHT... at 147 then that truly is amazing & certainly = p4pness IMO.

If Pac beats Hatton, I will be truly impressed... if he beats Mayweather, I will place him in my top 10 p4p fighters of all time... you can save this message, thats my feelings right now.

For the record... p4p... Pac-man, Morales, Barrera, Marquez... but there is no huge gaps between either of the mini-fab 4 at their peaks.

Funny thing is, these Pac haters constantly complain of Nuthuggers when they themselves are causing it. You dont see Pacfans starting fantasy match up against Past elite fighters. Its these haters trying to find happiness when they read "Oh Pac will get KTFO...etc"

This is what I been saying all the time, But I think they will never ever forever try to notice it.

I agree with all of this, though for me now there is a bit of daylight between Pacquiao and the rest of the mini-fab 4. A former flyweight world champ winning a world title at light and winning a big fight at 147 - IMO none of the other three have achievements to match those. Pac a clear numero uno for me now.

Its that last Marquez fight that stops me from placing Pac higher, Pac was supposed to be new & improved & yet JMM did equally well vs the one dimensional Pac as he did vs the more complete Pac.
I really fancied Pac to do a job on Marquez last time & was rooting for Pac, it might be a styles thing or simply a slight off night on Pac`s part I dont know.

My thinking is, if Pac has so much trouble vs JMM, why on earth - other than $$$$ - would Roach - being quite a smart guy - be so eager for a Mayweather clash ?

I hope Roach isnt relying on Floyds inactivity because FMJ is a demon in training, his conditioning might even equal or surpass even Manny Pac`s. Floyd WILL be ready, you can bet your house on that.

    Cheers.

its the same people who are constantly discrediting pac. they will claim that they like pac and hate the nuthuggers. at least maestro is true to himself that he hate both pacquiao and his nuthuggers. some of these haters are hypocrites. :good

you know i like pacquiao, he is an ATG... but.. but... bull****!!!

Is Floyd going to stop Pac? I don't think so.

Is he going to outwork Pac? I don't think so.

The possibility of Pacquiao doing what Oscar couldn't and sustaining his workrate en route to a clear points win is very real I think. I wouldn't say I'm confident of a Pac win, you can never rule out someone with Mayweather's skills, but Pac definitely has a fair chance IMO.

I'm sure some fans are giving him too much credit like saying he's the best of all time. He may be the best Asian boxer of all time but not the best out of all boxers at any given time.

PAC deserves to get A LOT of credit for his outstanding career and accomplishments. He's had one of the harder schedules that any boxer has had over the last 5 yrs or so. He's beaten almost everyone he's faced in that 5 yr time and most of the names he's beaten are Hall of fame fighters....future ATG's, Champions, former champions or all of the above.

THere are JUST AS MANY fanatics going over board about how great PAC actually is as there are the PAC "HATERS" who are on the complete other side of this specturm that not only do their posts sound exactly alike they are just as weak and lacking any substance it's laughable.

So there is a balance given the vast disparities from fanatics and Haters who all want to their views to be seen as the correct one.

PAC is the #1 P4P fighter today....he's a shoe in for the Hall of Fame and he's the biggest name in Boxing right now....that's something only a hand full of fighters could ever say in this great sport. OH.....and yes, he's already on the ATG list! Where he ranks exactly will proably be somewhere in the middle of where the Haters and Fanatics feel PAC should be.
