We live in a RIGHT NOW society.
Yeah Floyd won't make much (relatively speaking that is) for Shane and it's a dangerous fight.. but that is SHORT TERM, IN-THE-MOMENT THINKING...

Any quality life decisions should not be made on their immediate effects but with a long term view...

A win here could be HUGE when coming back to the bargaining table with Manny. By most accounts Mayweather v. Mosley will do significantly better than Pac v. Clottey. And an impressive performance against Shane would not only embolden the support Money May desires from the public, but could totally change the lay of land for the next negotiation.

This is the way it has worked forever.. and it's the way it's ALWAYS going to work. The greater the RISK, the greater the reward! The question is ARE YOU WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE? That's why it's called courage, balls, whatever you want to name it.

I think Floyd will beat Shane, but it doesn't matter what I think. The simple fact these rumors or comments are floating around only reflects on what Floyd feels.

I think what Floyd is missing honestly, and the thing that separates him from the fighters who've preceded him with whom Floyd would love to be mentioned with, if not elevated above, is that those men were of a harder generation and were FIGHTERS! They got in there and they fought.. with heart, courage, and they BELIEVED they would win. And if they came up short they showed what it means to get back on the horse...

As a role model Floyd reminds me of the parents who want pee-wee games to have no scores... BULL****.. the REALITY is 99% of us lose in challenges and endevours we take up, and learning how to do that, and how to not let it effect you negatively long term is what makes ALL (yes i said ALL) the great advancements and changes in life. What lesson is learned when we say hey let's evaluate every scenario and not take up any challenge unless there is no risk of failure?

what a ridiculously SOFT generation we have become... I see that attitude coming from Floyd's dad's side honestly.. And probably Haymon..

Man Floyd you DO have alot of fans, and those of us who appreciate your amazing talent and skill, but it's hard for us to relate to you because you are blessed with a level of competence many of us only dream of approaching in respective fields. It's hard to connect with someone you feel you lack a common thread with. On the other hand, most of us are more like lesser skilled fighters, who say, I KNOW I got a good chance of getting beat, but i'm going to give it my all, and if you can knock me down 99 times, I can get up 100 times... We'd love to connect with you brother, but we don't relate because we have a slim chance of ever reaching e level of achievement you have reached, so we want to connect on a level we can.. bravado, courage, determination etc etc.

    SO SHOW US SOME!!

I'm not anti-FLoyd at all.. I pick him to win ANY fight, and supported his position throughout this ordeal with Pac..

    So you're way off dude..

The mothafugga pisses me off. This is typical of him, dodging top welters. I hope he grows some balls and fights Mosley.

    Nice read man :good

Agreed about our generation going soft in the US. I think it was Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel that did a documentary about this. At this one elementary school they banned dodgeball and the kids aren't allowed to have any physical contact meaning 'air-high-fives' and 'air-tag?' What the **** is going on

Nutty ass people I tell ya

What "issue"? Tell me about it? Show me evidence that Floyd "balked" (a term a completely different weak source used days ago) at Shane?

For real man, craziest part about it is the kids love it. They were giving eachother air-fives and even air-hugs. I was :rofl
