I love it, the bell goes and Nigel is straight out the corner BANG lead right hand no messing about, no range finders or having a little look, straight down to work.

Nigel loved a fight, amazing performance, I miss Nigel fighting.

 

After that finished another video was suggested, a great little documentary by ITV called "The fight of their lives".

Tells the story of Benn Vs McClellan, amazing night, amazing fight and I still insist that is the best performance by a British fighter I have ever seen. If that didn't end in tradegy it would talked about and shown on TV far more often.

I can watch the first two rounds over and over again, Benn out the ring and unconscious for a few seconds, survives the round and then the second round when the Benn just comes firing back, if that fight was put in a film people would say it was too unrealistic.

 

Or if it happened in the era with no tv or video recorders people would just put it down as a myth or legend.

nigel benn is my all time favourite fighter he never ducked anybody, that performance was devastating, sugar ray leonard my have had his number though! would love to have seen roy jones vs benn

 

I loved watching his fights and still watch them now online he was always entertaining and like a good old punch up.
Jones imo was on a differet level to any smw

 

It's a shame about the stupid 3-knockdown rule in this fight. The fight was a classic but it would have been better if Barkley had been allowed to carry on.
Also, the referee was a bit poor (although a good referee usually) allowing Benn to tee off on Barkley while Barkley was down.

Great fight and great performance though.

 

Benn was an inspiration to a generation of us gym kids, everyone in the gym wanted to be like Benn.
However Jones and Toney, IMO, just too good for Nigel.

 

yeah your right but nigel would have given him hell for as long as it lasted, a big right from benn could end any fight which made him dangerous against anybody
