He looked really good last night especially for a guy that will be 45 in a month but if he was 30 years old he would have annihilated Ornelas.

He has aged gracefully but he's definitely aged a bit to my eye.

Hopkins is so technically sound and skilled, but hes definitely slowing and fast/athletic guys are probably not-so-good matchups for him at this stage.

Fantastic picture and very good thread/comment. When you remove Floyd's testicles from your gub, you are capable of some decent work on here it seems.

That picture loses credibility because Hopkins was fighting a natural middleweight. I've seen Chad Dawson, Eddie Chambers, and Miguel Cotto throw better punches with better technique.

Yes, Hopkins is a natural light heavyweight, and Cotto is amazing at throwing while being defensively responsible.

So because he was fighting a middleweight, his punches were not as textbook ???!1 :patsch:patsch:patsch:patsch

He was fighting a bum, I've see Dawson throw flashy textbook punches against Adamek, Johnson, and Tarver. I've seen Chambers throw beautiful combinations against Dimitrenko.

Sorry I just don't get all the praise Hopkins is getting, he's almost 45 years old and a lot of his fans are vastly overrating him. Hopkins USED to be a sharp accurate puncher, but most of the time now he's just SLOPPY.

You want to see Hopkins look text book and at his best watch Hopkins vs Glen Johnson, Hopkins vs Trinidad, or any fight of Hopkins from 1996-2002.

Hopkins from 2005-till now has looked very sloppy. I'm not impressed with a win against a C level middleweight, I don't believe he's that good anymore.

I think what I like most from that picture, is that he has hit the guy with a crisp unconventional shot, with his body lined up at what must be about 110 degrees, but he isnt even looking at where his fist is gone/going, he has hit his target, but his eyes are deadlocked on ornelas's right hand, ready to swing his head out the way should it come through

He's 44 turning 45 and a lot of his fights has looked anything but textbook, more like a boxer who's past his prime.

People say he's not the same hopkins of 10 yrs. ago and I agree but he's still formadable and can still beat the best fighters out there, so that's good enough for me.
