What constitutes a natural lightweight? Duran was fighting nearly 140 in 1973 in non title fights. And 141 pounds in 1974. I think the excuses for Duran are ridiculous. He looked good at welterweight. Leonard beat him easily once he fought his fight and boxed. It was easy.

Depends if its LW, I can see Duran bullying PAC.. Hes slippery as heck as well, but again with PAc theres that unpredictable punch ready to connect any given moment.

the handspeed of Pac would have given Duran problems at any weight.

Duran isn't Cotto.... Duran could take punches and dish out his own.... two different boxers.....

Duran was much better than Cotto offensive and defensive wise at any weight class.

why, because you're jealous it's not your hero that's being compared to legends?

As for me I dunno much of the fab four but I just feel happy that Pac is being discussed in the same conversation with the greats.

    It really doesnt matter

as steward puts it and hes a manny hater, there is no weapon for what Manny brings and its that insane ability to throw and connect punches from any angle with power and speed

Steward saying that it means ****... you and I have seen many other great boxers before and we both know what boxers are difficult to defeat... and Duran is one of them...

I just imagine Duran all over Pac with smart pressure.... boxing and at the same time putting the pressure at the right time....

Don't know why I'm bothering to come back to this thread, but still...

So let me guess, you must think Manuel Medina is the greatest featherweight of all time, right, because he was a 5 time featherweight champion? For example, it doesn't matter that Marquez beat him up and made him look like an amateur like he does here:

    [yt]U0c2lXEpFxk[/yt]

because no one else has been 5-time featherweight champ, right? Medina must be better at featherweight because he won the title there more times, right? And the number of times you can win a title determines everything, right? :nut

I not committing on this fight, people underrate Duran, I dont ..hes a beast and makes you fight his fight, underrated defense as well. but when it was impossible to discuss manny with Duran 2 years ago..its very reasonable now

Duran has the best win out of any of them, beating a PEAK Leonard in Montreal. And yes, he is the best lightweight in history, which is regarded as the deepest division in history. He also beat Barkley, who beat the **** out of Hearns.

Duran is the best of the four, followed by Leonard... then the next two around the same.

Very bold statement to compare Pac to the fab 4 let alone claim superiority. But I think Pacs acheivements considering he started at flyweight and is really a natural lightweight now means his standing is comparable to these fighters.

In terms of head to head fights I only see him having a chance to beat Duran as Hearns, leonard and Hagler were too big even for Manny. But in terms of legacy his acheivements are comparable. If he actually beats floyd though and in the manner of his recent victories then he may surpass them, but that's a big if.
