So here's the question: Of the three possible opponents being talked about (Rogers, Lashley, Belfot) who would you rather have Fedor face? For me, I say Rogers, just because people are buzzing about him for knocking out AA faster than Fedor did. Folks will say Lashley is too raw and Belfot is too over-the-hill. But Rogers is considered by some to be a great prospect (or God, according to Mike W.) and would prove an interesting matchup. And by interesting, I mean he gets taken down and subbed in the first round...
I think the question is who is eligible to face Fedor. If you look at http://www.fightmatrix.com/mma-ranks/heavyweight-265-lbs/ you'll see that many of the top heavyweights' last fights were in the UFC. I don't know which fighters are still under contract. Whether or not you agree with this site's supposed computer generated order, most of the top guys are in there. If based upon rating, Rogers deserves the shot. Frankly, because of his ground game, I give him a lesser chance than Lashley or Belfort. Belfort has experience, is faster, but will likely fold under the pressure in my opinion. Lashley is inexperienced in mma; but is much larger and is supposed to have solid wrestling skills. I believe Lashley may be Fedor's biggest threat of the bunch. Lashley is undefeated, and like Larry Merchant loves to point out, undefeated fighters don't know how to lose. The problem is the win win for Fedor and Lashley. Fedor doesn't accomplish near as much facing an inexperienced Lashey on 11 days notice. Lashley doesn't accomplish much if he loses outside the well known UFC. Belfort has been in training, is an mma name, and says he is willing to fight. I think Belfort is going to be the one to square off come fight time.
Geez never expected this at all Im happy in a way - Barnett might have beaten the great man, and i dont want that to happen Like you rek, i'd like it to be Lashley. Someone that powerful would be good training for Lesnar
