Just because the PPV or network numbers don't grow exponentially doesn't mean that it's not building an audience. No your example is fallacious. As the two sports being discussed here are boxing and the UFC/MMA. Nothing else has any relevance. Therefore your example is irrelevant. I consider myself a hardcore fan and i can't even remember the last event the UFC ran. But if you think fans were talking about that more than Pac Bradley from last weekend fine. I don't berate PRIDE all the time. In fact I watched Wanderlei-Hendo 1 today. :good My problems with PRIDE are that it was not a model that could nurture and grow a legitimate mainstream sport, and the organization itself was massively rotten and corrupt. Plus I prefer the cage to a ring, and I don't like stomps and soccer kicks. PRIDE didn't allow elbows to a downed opponent. The UFC though does and ALWAYS has. And PRIDE was mainstream. You don't get close to 100k worth of fans in Saitama if you're not mainstream.
