Peak viewing figures for England in the last Women's European Championships on BBC2 were 2.9 million. Now, how many viewers did Audley attract after the BBC gave him a million quid of licence payers money? Women's football is exactly the sort of low cost yet relatively popular sport that the BBC should be showing. Professional boxing in its present state is exactly the sort of overpriced circus they shouldn't touch with a bargepole.
To be honest it is a European cup final with our women involved and it would have been very cheap. Boxing at world title level probably cost more for 1 fight than it would be to show womens football everyday for the next 5 years.
Relatively cheap and brings in a decent amount of viewers. I don't see what everyone is complaining about. They usually show the womens FA final too.
It's alright actually womens football, it's taken a bit of a jump forward (bit like womens cricket) from the embarrassment it used to be. It's still not "Proper" football but there's a bit of skill there and good play. One thing that remains awful is the goal keeping, they always seem to have the shortest person in the team in goal who ,incidently, is utter **** at shot stopping and general goal keeping duties. I wont be watching like but will be pleased if we win!
:huh:blood So you know what i'm thinking??? and meaning to say??? To clear it up that was exactly what i wanted to say....thanks for trying though :hi:
