Well of course it's not irrelevant as a whole but in this case, Joe has had serious hand problems and has sometimes been held back because he can't throw the punches that he wants too. Even if Bernard is 43 doesn't mean he's in any worse condition then Joe. And I have no idea when Hopkins actually started but in an interview he mentioned he had started late. Either way this match comes years too late and I think Joe by UD is a very logical way to go at this point, prime for prime we'd have an interesting match up.
Your obviously a fan who is'nt blinkered and would give him his dues, but there are so many fans that are looking to knock Joe regardless of what he achieves, that I believe it will be said if he beats Hopkins...but I agree it will be an interesting fight.
Yes... its all about positioning yourself so that you are in a position to hit the other guy while the other guy is not. Bernard will use movement to nullify Calzaghe's output and inside fighting skills once he's got Calzaghe where he wants him. Bernard will put on a masterpiece in there
Yeah but he fought a **** fight vs. Reid, had he come in with the correct gameplan(basically if he didn't hate reid), then Reid would have been basically shut out. That's one fight out of many, you can't use the Reid fight for anything other than Calzaghe thinking Reid was a cream puff and then letting his emotion's get to him. A peak Calzaghe beats the Calzaghe that beat Kessler, 10/10 times.
Jack just dislikes Hopkins and his fans and wishes to see him throughly beaten badly by somebody that the P4P circle would normally be avoiding to fight overrated and overused P4P circle jerk stock money making fighters and for Hopkins to have the stain of being annihilated with little to no excuse, as we know Hops can't beat Calzaghe, at any point in his career. However, prime for prime Joe's going to UD him close, now he's going to blow him out. Hopkins IS old.
Hopkins age may play a big role in this fight or it may not. Based on his last 2 fights, I doubt many would guess his age correctly if they didn't already know him. Didn't Hopkins throw over 650 punches against Wright?
Good points except right here. Prime for Prime, Hopkins gives Calzaghe the business. I think Hopkins will have a good showing in this fight.
:-( NO WAY JOSE!:nono Calzaghe might not be as sharp and fast, but he is as fit as ever and his temperament and morale are superior, not to mention he is much more experienced now. :deal
If he did, at least 500 of them must have traveled less than eight inches. I'm a Hopkins fan, but that fight was the cure for insomnia.
