Provided they both have theyre belts (Kats hopefully with the full version of WBO) and Zapp with IBO Lightweight title (which he has) i think in 12 months this will be awesome.

At the moment too soon for Zappa yes yes i agree, but 12 months who knows. (note, im a big kats fan)

I think in queensland it could really generate ALOT of interest. maybe get 10,000+ somewhere. Dunno about anywhere else in oz.

I just think stylistically its a top fight and i think people have to give credit to zappa after all he is a WORLD CHAMP no matter what anyone says.

    And unify two belts

It will never happen imo. It has local interest only - it wouldn't generate the money Katsidis is use to getting.

Kats probably has a few more fights left before giving it away. JMM, Khan, Maidana, Diaz rematch - he's got far bigger fish to fry than Zappa.

Your prob right :( but damn it would be good.

i still think maybe after those 3 or 4 fights you state and he's almost done he might have one last one in oz just to say thats it.

by then if zappa has built himself up well it could be possible

    or

bring kostya out of retirement! KATSIDIS V TSZYU never know ive seen worse in oz!!!!

bad career move for zappa + no money in it for Kats.

Why would kats only have a few fight left? He is only 29/30. He has had a few wars but has improved greatly in his last few fights.

Katsidis is several leagues above Zappa, certainly in profile and pulling power, and I don't think the IBO belt is much of a lure. Katsidis has earned the right to go after very big fights for, hopefully, a lot of money. Zappa is still establishing himself, regardless of his "world???" title.

Katsidis wont fight in Australia again...He lives in Thailand - never comes home to Toowoomba- cant see him fighting here if he doesn't even come back to visit. Its a shame cause he would be chaired around Toowoomba like a KING!

He probabaly lives like a king in Thailand anyway - at least when he's not training for a fight.
Haven't seen anything that would warrant the suggested bout either Zap would get blasted. Thought I had heard both him and his trainer say they would like a fight back here though, would need to be abig name to generate the numberes. I hope they can pull it off.
