This turned out to be a very bad crop of heavyweight prospects.

He needs to have a fight at heavy first.

Remember the big trashing of the Klitschkos that happened on this forum 3 years ago? How now "the 2017 era is so much stronger" and "the Klitschkos ruled a weak era".

Every day that passes, every new upset, the Klitschkos look better and better in retrospect.

Lets see if any of these guys are relevant into their 40s like both Klitschkos were. I very much doubt Fury or Joshua will be able to maintain world class form for that long. Certainly not Wilder - he may have already tumbled from the top of the ladder for good.

Hey, Joshua took quite a tumble himself. Not saying he is finished, or lacks the character to fight on, but the "aura of invincibility" is gone for good, and now, every guy who steps in the ring to fight him will swing for the fences, and fight to the death.

He'll still have a good series with Fury, but will never quite be the same.

Yes it does, all great boxers go to America to realise their boxing dreams and make peak money and fame. Time zone and stuff come in to play also so someone like Joshua wouldn't be seen by the massive America audience fighting in the UK. Lennox Lewis was a great HW because he fought in America against great American opponents. If that great crop of American HWs didn't exist Lennox Lewis would have a good career, not a great one.

He’s fighting Joyce next. That’s a plenty good fight for both of them

Hrgovic announced to be fighting Pala next. That is an absolutely dreadful fight. I’m off that hype train.

I agree on not everyone being Mike Tyson.
But he also fought 20 times in his first 12 months as a pro. (Joyce made it to 10 fights in 2 years)
Like you said not everyone is like him.
    Different times as well.

Yeah, it's very exciting now. All the Klitschko leftovers, who are most of the top 10, became old and more exciting than ever.

Jared Anderson and David Adeleye, even though they are just babies atm, are 2 guys to watch out for imo.

I see Makhmudov as the most promising of the bunch. Very crude though, so his power will need to be something special to offset his lack of traditional boxing skill.

Most of the other breakdowns I agree with. Zhan might be ok, but I can't see any special quality with him. Nistor could have been awesome had he turned pro a few years earlier. Now he's a blob whose handspeed and fire seem to have deserted him.

Makhmudov showed a lot of improvements against Rice who is a slippery operator.
