This turned out to be a very bad crop of heavyweight prospects.

Vitali Klitschko fought his last ever fight in 2012. Nothing that happens now directly makes his career look any better than it already is. .

In fact the laughing stock that has become Bermane Stiverne(k2 era fighter) battering one of his best wins twice makes his run look worse rather than better if you want to play it that way.

Just referring to them as "Klitschko's" , as if they were one entity further proves what a terrible era that was , as two different fighters tag teaming over a rooster of cans will never be interesting or exciting , and it wasn't. Hence why Wlad defended the HW Crown on Eurosport TWICE.

Furthermore , Whtye is a contender and very far removed from the top two of the division. He got upset by 40 year old Povetkin who is still as good as Vitali was at age 40. So what. . None of you Klitsccho bumboys thought Vitali could be beat at 40/41..

If Whtye being upset by a guy like Povetkin makes this era bad , then top ranker Denis Boystov losing to a forklift operator make that division even worse.

I agree with you. I never followed up to see how true it was, but didn’t his team offer Wilder quite a fair bit of wedge for a fight a couple of years back? Impressive confidence if so

Yeah he does show surprisingly good levels of craft at times. He's not clueless by any means. Part of the reason I rate him. He's the sort of fighter who'll never look pretty, but could nonetheless turn out to be highly problematic. A bit like a HW Maidana.

I actually think he would beat Wilder right now, but that says more about how vulnerable I think Wilder is than how highly I rate Makhmudov at the moment.

Maybe. It’s hard to know how he’s going to come out from that last loss to Fury. His delusion might mean his confidence remains in tact, which is good for him. If he doubts himself though then he’s absolutely done.

Makmudov is the one that will put one/all of the Top 5 to sleep.

^ Dino desperately trying to clutch at some straws that make the Klitschko era look worse, when its as obvious as daylight that, when the dried, congealing leftovers of that time are still competing at the highest level ... AND winning ... that both the brothers are streets ahead of this current lot. :deal:

I'll tell you those missing ingredients. A superstar USA heavyweight champ needs to be one of these:

A)) A big, white all American guy with KO power a la Tommy Morrison.. he would have been massive if he would have won the title.

B)) A well spoken, good dude black man that can crossover with all types of fans including white middle class fans a la Holyfield.

C)) A menacing, charismatic destroyer a la Mike Tyson. Someone you either love, hate or are just plain scared of.

Notice, BeyondGay Wilder is none of these things. He has no charisma is ignorant and cant speak at all. Ruiz was a fat joke who turned off American fans by only showing pride for Mexico despite being born in the USA.

if Tyson Fury was American and had more KO power he would be a gigantic star. Some fans like him here, but we still have trouble getting behind a Brit. Its in the dna from back in the colonial days

Hrgovic, Vykhryst and Jalolov are the pick of the HW prospects imo.

I haven't been high on any of these guys. A lot of big stiff idiots, I'm afraid.

The thing I like about Makhmudov is how spiteful he is. Like he just strikes me as a really mean dude who wants to put a hurting on fools. Coupled with his natural size and brute strength and that makes him a really scary proposition indeed. Seems to have a very solid jaw as well, judging by some of the tear ups he had in the WSB.

Reminds me of a cross between Vitali, Foreman and Peter Aerts, crossed with a Tourette's patient.

    Vykhryst is crap

Dubois, Makhmudov, Anderson, Hrgovic and Ajagba top5 prospects by far.

outside HW - Jai Opetaia. Not sure if he goes up but skill-wise he is special.
