Joshua v Wilder itself is not a 'superfight' in the UK...... Joshua v anyone is a 'superfight'..... Joshua v Fury/Whyte/Haye...even Bellew, makes more money than Wilder.
well, you obviously know what it is like over here far better than I, after all I only live here. you on the other hand have imagined what the United States are like.
The real problem for Wilder is he is not British. If Joshua was American and won a gold medal etc he would still be a no-body.If Wilder was British and being the windmill he is, he would still be a mega star in Britain.UK is similar to Pacquiao and the Phillipines, Big Fishes and Small Ponds.
Eddie Hearn himself said the fight would do more than Tyson/Lewis which did 112 million in ppv. Or are you saying he's full of **** and don't ever trust anything comming out of his mouth?
He may well of thought that but the reality is he needs to crunch the numbers and deal with reality. The reality is no fighter has debuted on PPV and done more than 500k buys. That's a fact. That includes DLH, Mayweather, Roy Jones etc so to assume Wilder v AJ will do big numbers on ppv would be incredibly amateurish. Now if Wilder's team do really believe the fight can generate $100 mil they can come up with the money and pay both fighters $50 mil.
Hearn says a lot of things, he is a promoter, that's his job, he promotes, he does his best to make bang average events sound amazing. But if you want to believe or hold him to every word he says then explain this to me.. Wilder wants 40%, On here Wilder fans have been saying it's a 100million fight, Hearn said the fight isn't that big in a recent interview, Hearn made an offer and it was rejected so.. Team Wilder are going to make a counter offer, Hearn and Joshua said if they (Team Wilder) believe the fight is worth 100million then offer them a guaranteed 60million and they'll sign TODAY. So Wilder gets the 40% he wanted, the added bonus of having the fight in the States and we are all happy because the fight gets made. So what's the problem? I'll tell you a couple, Wilder gets paid between 1.5-2.5million a fight so where on earth are they going to dig up 40million for Wilder? And then the 60million to pay AJ? How is Wilder generating that money? Because apparently according to some of you Wilder is worth it, so explain how it happens and how Wilder is worth what he thinks he is.
or hearn could give wilder a flat rate up to fifty million and a percentage of everything above and beyond.
He can't do that because the money isn't there. That's the point. The fight isn't as big as Wilder's team are suggesting. It might've been bigger if Wllder had showed his face in Cardiff for the Parker fight, but he didn't. It definitely would've been bigger if Wilder was facing Whyte in London for $4m with the winner facing AJ after he fought Miller in NYC, but Wilder didn't fancy that either. So the fight won't be as big as it may be.
why on earth can he not do that? if it doesn't reach fifty mil, wilder gets his flat fee. if it does, he gets a percentage of everything thereafter. there is no reason it cannot be done.
Eddie talking out of his ass on that one. The fight could make big money both both would have to establish themselves first.
Sorry I think I misunderstood your last post. You are right, he could be given a deal where once a certain threshold was reached. I don't think that's what will happen I think he'll be offered a percentage, just a lower one than he wants.
