Your not taking styles into account here. Martinez and Pacquiao are completely different types of boxers to Ortiz. Ortiz had a terrible gameplan, wasn't fast enough and generally just looked clueless as to what to do. Even when he backed Floyd to the ropes he was just throwing loads of random shots to the head instead of picking his punches and applying controlled pressure.

At the end of the day Ortiz just did the same as Hatton but less effectively.

So when can we expect these fights to happen?

Oh wait I forgot, Floyd's the king of beating fighters without having to fight them.

Cmon, he beat a limited B level fighter who ANYONE could see was going to be eating right hands from the Berto fight. It's no surprise Ortiz was getting backed up being so open to the right hand. Using Ortiz as a barometer for how he'd go against Martinez and Pacquiao is ludicrous, you might as well say Maidana would beat them both while you're at it.

I don't know what fight you were watching!

After last night I have changed my pick of Floyd to beat Pacquiao on points, to a Pacquiao victory.

I had money on a Floyd KO last night but he only threw punches and let his hands go because Ortiz was throwing nothing. On the occasional moment when Ortiz actually let his hands go Floyd went back in str8 lines and lay against the ropes.

IMO Mayweather will never fight Pacquiao, if he does I'm taking Manny to win, be it by decision or stoppage. I believe Pacquiao is level upon level above Ortiz and will cause Floyd a world of trouble. Martinez would KILL Floyd!

Its less about his opponent and more about who Floyd is and how he is fighting now in his last 2 fights. He is going toe to toe with bigger guys now and is still dominating them.

I actually think that it was one of the worst versions of Floyd I've seen to date. I need to rewatch the fight to make sure, but he seemed to be missing much more than usual (which might be due to his higher workrate, not sure) and he didn't seem as agile, quick or generally sharp as he usually is. Ortiz was being schooled, but he still managed to land a few shots here and there, which also surprised me -- even just before the headbutt he connected with two or three that went through Floyd's gloves and drove him back.

Floyd just didn't look like his usual masterful self. Even in his demeanour, he was oddly aggressive, cheap-shotting Ortiz and being even more vicious to Merchant than he was after the Baldomir match.

One thing I DID like was how Floyd was throwing some combinations, but seeing as it was against someone as outmatched as Ortiz, it doesn't mean much. I think Pac and Roach will be happy with what they saw, to be honest -- Floyd's decline is looking more noticeable than ever, even though he's still an excellent boxer.

LOL, irrational hate caused by intimidation and envy, love it I shall upload anotehr just to make you feel even more insecure.:rofl:smooch

Bitchweather is a straight up *****. He knew that taking a cheap shot would mean calls for a rematch, especially as he was only up by 1 point, he thought this would be another half dead Mosley, or blown up JMM, Ortiz is crap, but he made Bitchweather work, and Bitchweather didn't look comfortable at all, his handspeed was the difference something Pac is better at:deal. Now we won't see him face a ive opponent again as he will HAVE to rematch this gatekeeper:patsch:-:)dead

Im not gonna argue about how good Floyd is because its apparent and proven that he is one of the best of modern times. But you cant say that he is gonna beat Pac and Martinez on the back of a victory over Ortiz who was way way way out of his league last night.

I was not comparing the two as fighters but was trying to get his yhougjts on how much Martinez would weigh on fight night for a 154lb bout with Floyd.
