Crawford struggles and beats a smaller, faded Gamboa = great win Lomachenko beats a smaller, older but still p4p level Rigondeaux - average win.
Rigo didnt add any weight. 128-130 is what he always weighs, he just didnt have to sweat anything off. Just like Loma has been 136 to 138 since turning pro. Hes just sweating off 6 pounds instead of 10.
Bernard was never pfp best. And we aren't talking about the Mitchell's and Torrecampos of the world. Salido was a known fighter and a guy who went life and death with Juan Ma. That's the rematch you do. Wlad didn't have to rematch Purrity but he had to rematch Sanders. You understand?
Pacquiao was a nobody when he took his first two loses. When he was a p4p level fighter he avenged his loss to Morales 10 months later. He wouldn't become p4p#1 until 3 years after that win having defeated the likes of Diaz , Marquez , Barrera , Hoya , Hatton ...
Bud's and GGG's wins were both "meh" for me. Nice wins, but I don't read too much into it. Both guys were a bit sloppier in going through the motions because they knew they could get away with it. This fight was in that class for me, but the performance bumped it up a notch because Loma didn't let Rigo land any of his vaunted counters. He didn't get sloppy and fight a size-centric gameplan even though he was bigger. He was committed to showing he had the superior skillset, and he succeeded in that. And that's where the credit comes in for me- smaller or not, Rigo is a very skilled defensive puncher, and Loma took all that away. I never thought Rigo would win, but I expected some flush counters to find their mark, just like Gamboa and Brook landed.
Crawford didn't really struggle though Crawford is usually a slow starter. And Gamboa was prime unlike Rigo so I don't really get your logic???
Gamboa was prime? Gamboa was in his prime at LW? Come off it, he looked awful against Darleys Perez, a guy who Crolla KO'd.
